McKinsey says 25% of its global fees now come from outcome-based pricing Project Acorn is the internal restructuring that makes that cash-flow model work for the partnership For buyers, the practical read says your next consulting contract will have very different payment timing and structure than your last one

My board freaked out that our updated forecast had $1M higher cash burn. I reassured them that the $1.5M will be the most important $2.5M we have ever spent because it was time to “accelerate or die”. If we don’t spend that $3M, then we are going to get crushed by competitors

@Laotweets Harvey is the big name for sure. I havent heard of many large companies using Claude Legal vocally yet, but I'd imagine that will be an automatic efficiency gain for SMB's and Mid-market companies. I'd imagine those on ironclad and others will just starts using their ai features

Corporate legal teams using AI are getting 25-35% more output per lawyer. One associate with AI now does what five associates did in three weeks for certain matter types. If your outside counsel spend hasn't dropped 30%, start asking the questions

@mhp_guy I got a chick-fil-a order one time that I didn’t order. Called chick-fil-a, it was real, but I couldn’t return it or do anything about it.

This output of this prompt worked, BTW. I got my refund. Imagine entrusting gig economy workers with $700 items and not requiring them to take a pic on the doorstep. I'll tell you what happens: Theft. If it happened to me it's happening all over. Incentives never lie.

$91.57B in global GenAI spend in 2026 and only 39% of enterprises report any EBIT impact from AI & most of those report less than 5% impact... Incremental budgets are getting approved on vibes & someone is going to have a bad Q4 conversation about this

WTI ran 6.7% in a single week earlier this month on Cushing drawdowns. Brent barely moved. That kind of dislocation between the U.S. benchmark and the global reference price is exactly what makes petrochemical cost planning feel like guesswork right now

Your credibility is your most valuable asset. You only get one shot at it. Don’t overpromise. Don’t bluff your way through. Don’t get caught being sloppy. Protect your word like your future depends on it. Because it does.

truck freight up 8.1% month on month, steel mill products up 3.8%, gasoline up 15.6%. Machinery and equipment wholesaling up 3.5%. If your capex budget was set in Q4 2025, you're working with the wrong numbers

I'm cold to most people at work. Unless you can help me grow, get promoted, or do my job better, I don't have much energy for small talk. I know it sounds harsh. But every meaningful career move I've made came from a short list of the right relationships and extreme productivity, not from being everyone's friend. This mindset helped me become one of the top performers in the industry with an extremely valuable network that landed me multiple offers in less than 10 days after being laid off. Be strategic about who gets your time.

Structural steel softening while cement holds firm is a real split for anyone pricing construction right now. Fixed-price contract holders get a small win on steel. Everyone else is still looking at an inflationary blended cost picture on new builds
