Spent 30 minutes with Claude failing to identify a broken part of our shower so I could order it online. Took the guy in the shop half a second. Lesson there.

@avax who at avalanche might be able to provide r/o remote query access (SQL) (transactions, blocks, events mainly) or freeish rpc access ? trying to do some cluster detection (n3+ deep) and general metrics stuff and /maybe/ some light indexing myself? (there aren't enough @dune credits in the world for recursive (duneSQL I don't think suppose recursive either) or n3+ and the need/want for this popped up when the price for 8tb drives is like a house payment and a new server grade system might be more than a 2003 Honda Civic ex is worth. disclaimer: this isn't for a specific project, I'm just sort of dicking around with non-dune avalanche analytics. appreciate y'all

@nvidia The people want affordable, open source AI. Please help me make it happen. You have the power to move the needle more than thousands of donations.

@couchdicks @avax If you want to syndicate data, my workflow makes daily parquet of tx and blocks from which I do my daily reports rather than scanning Mongo multiple times. Maybe I could either fork my production or make bulk product for you?

I was running an archive node until earlier this month. The total drive space required exceeded the servers 14TB of NVME and since it was a bare metal server I could not upgrade it. Pretty bummed actually. My best bet now is either build something at home, colo something or bite the bullet and go with a provider for north of $700 monthly. I wish AvalancheGo allowed me to boostrap an fully indexed archive node from a specific block height forward. That would be good.

@ChrisFusillo @avax @ChainstackHQ werd! I was using their free tier for a bit but ended up (ab)using round robin public RPC's and was able to achieve 50ish rps (sort of) it was sort of a cluster fuck, but ended up scraping it and am considering starting fresh and figured I'd reach out. that'll be plan B

@couchdicks @avax One thing that may help you. @ChainstackHQ has unlimited requests archive nodes now but they are limited by rps. You cab grab a growth plan for $50 month and add a $150 unlimited upgrade but at 25 rps max. It jumps steeply to $650 month if you need north of that throughput.

I'm a Debian die hard but any of the distros who use apt as a base PKG manager are fine with me. back in the day upgrading packages was a shit show... like soooooo fucking bad. started with slack and redhat for work and Debian at some point and never really looked back. ubuntu is usually what I use now (vps and virtual machines)

So we name our product @Cod3xOrg and OpenAI launches Codex 6 months later. We name our lab @uv and OpenAI acquires the team behind the UV package manager 3 months later. 🤔
