@EchosBeast Imo whoever buys them should paywall certain "advanced" features (new or old) behind a sub vs. relying on donos. Could lean into providing features for mods/power-users of streams instead of just streamers. If Kick buys them they could integrate SE sub like Prime sub on Twitch

Honestly I think Twitch should buy Streamelements.
I feel like it would make sense for them to have a built in chat bot, direct dono system outside of subs and bits. Plus they could use some of the other SE systems to improve other features on Twitch like alerts and sponsorships

StreamElements has been aware of their financial struggles since 2020/21 but choose to do nothing about it apart from getting rid of their best people that made the company in what it is today

@DougGambles @BijanTehrani @Blurth_ @Club If Kick continues to build out user personalisation/identification + anti-bot protection it could be good in the future, but I'd currently be worried you'd just get a lot of spam dms and apparently on twitch it's a moderation nightmare to monitor (Dr Disrespect etc.)

@StakeEddie @Suckaa @kick The drops made me want to watch more Kick to complete the entries. I'm sure there's a lot you could do around more watch hours = level ups etc., making viewers feel as if they're progressing for time spent invested into livestreams, like in Runescape.

Twitch already caps view counts, we got this idea from their staff years ago.
They won’t ban famous streamers. The same arguments apply (someone else is botting me). And even then those streamers have access to better methods and “real” viewers. The “stream together” feature on twitch also allows you to safely have a buddy bot your stream up for discovery purposes.
Kick is working on killing discovery for streamers who bot via our upcoming algo. We think this is the best method, as streamers who bot to inflate their positioning on the platform over smaller streamers will find themselves invisible to users that don’t follow them. Twitch should do the same.

Twitch CEO Dan Clancy announces they will be cracking down on viewbotting by placing caps on channels known to be persistently viewbotting. Repeated violations could lead to suspensions. “Today, we're introducing a new enforcement type that we plan to roll out over the next few weeks. For channels identified as persistently viewbotting, we will apply a cap to the streamer's CCV for a fixed period of time, on all of the Twitch surfaces. The cap will be based upon historical data regarding that creator's non-viewbotted traffic. Repeated violations will result in longer penalties. Streamers will be notified when an enforcement is applied, along with the duration of the penalty, and can appeal through the appeals portal.”
