I have a new baby and he is perfect!!! I spent a lot of last night thanking God for medicine —and medical professionals — who were able to find a safe way to bring him into the world. He wasn’t going to come on his own at 41 weeks but he’s here now and I’m over the moon in love.

@suryabowyer Not sure if anyone mentioned it, but Riley Linebaugh and James Lowry’s article “the archival colour line: race, records and post-custodial custody.” Archival science literature with a lot of information re Migrated Archives and Kenya.

Historians of empire: I’m looking for research on the importance of paperwork to colonial rule & administration, e.g. the British in India. Any suggestions?

I wrote an article in Code4Lib about how current DAMS-style digital repositories don’t work with archival methods, which is not widely understood by admins and technologists. I journal.code4lib.org/articles/16963

I can’t decide whether to be mad or just feel bad for @SouthwestAir at this point. (Their customer service line is just a busy signal. Perhaps they have just given up.)

Professional update: in January, I become the AV Access Services Librarian for the Beinecke Library. I'll still be haunting my current department to a degree, but I'll be working with everyone else too. I'm honored that they thought I was cool enough to do this job.
