@hot_rails I first saw this render 9 years ago and have heard nothing of the project since. Is it real still?

A 50% remittance tax on migrants sending money back to their home country, would cover nearly half of the annual NDIS budget.

Taylor is being very clumsy in his attempt to outflank Hanson. "Bad migrants from bad countries" isn't the main problem with mass immigration. The main problem is SCALE. Taylor implies that immigration from "good countries" is fine. But that - at scale - transforms our society.
7NEWS Sydney@7NewsSydney

Angus Taylor has weighed in on Australia's immigration debate, claiming 'bad migrants tend to come from bad countries'. The Opposition leader making the comments as Pauline Hanson joined hundreds of protestors in front of federal Parliament, calling on the Government to stem the flow of migrants.

@revenant_MMXX Nintendo have literally always had the strongest 1st party publishing, aka the thing that sells consoles. Sony did better with big western Devs/Pblshrs now that they are so terrible you are seeing the swing back.

Nintendo was always the underdog to Sony until the success of the Switch, so it wasn't surprising that early gaming YouTubers focused on Nintendo more. However, tourists who "got into gaming" by watching YouTube videos wouldn't have known this, so the hate is unsurprising
tapir mutant@neogeo8man

backlash to "nintendo youtubers" just meaning you're contrarian by default towards anything they like is just replacing one stupid thing with another stupid thing. "the N64 was SHIT" ok enjoy missing out on starfox 64 and sin & punishment. just look for good games on all systems.

@kane Someone should be in Newsome's ear telling him to shut down the high speed rail. Put the money into running this reactor for longer and building another one. If you want be prez, maybe try to build *anything* in your state

Provocative take: price controls do work in the short term because companies will rather unload inventory at a loss than keep it on the balance sheet, they can be a rational response to emergencies. (In general, though, Econ 101 is right about price controls.)
rohit@krishnanrohit

What's the underlying reason why so many people so radically prefer bad economic policies like price controls, considering we've known they're bad for decades now?

@Kazanjy @SealOfTheEnd @0x49fa98 Because psyllium supplements include the husk, they score really badly in the lab for heavy metal and some pesticide chemicals. Someone I trust has told me that there are essentially no brands, at least where we live that are good for consumption.

Fromsoft created the most successful postmodern series of all time and Redditors and loretubers ruined it by attempting to declare some "objective truth" about the story.
Alexey 🌅@ferocitq

both sad and funny how compellingly ethereal the Fromsoft games’ storytelling style is just to end up having the redditest fanbase of all time and have it all be wikified and have ppl pretend they have to watch a YouTuber for the ultimate truth of the lore

@BarneyFlames Quite confident if they replaced the word "right" with "ability" I would have been well over 40%. Liberalism being both so narrow minded and so absolutist has lead to a flourishing of dissenting views. Truly the bogeymen of the 21st century

John McDermott@mcdermott

@emilykmay That just shows how big of a problem this is. These men have never been taught to cultivate an inner life. They’re disconnected from themselves. They don’t even know how to engage in introspection. I would like a magazine that challenges them to do so.

ok I just want to say that when I asked "what is taylor swift for men" because I was curious about where men went to hear about their inner lives I got absolutely annihilated and told over and over (BY MEN) that men don't have inner lives 💀

The French are unique in they fully accept mass demonstrations (including low grade violence) as part of civic life. However, they *also* arm their police and have an appetite for state bellicosity This is 180 degrees from the Brits who do ANYTHING to avoid confrontation (1/2)
Mike Jones@technopopulist

My prediction: France will be the first European country to erupt into outright civil conflict. The methods used there will echo across the continent, sparking copycat/mimetic effects that reshape Events everywhere. Bookmark this.
