I now look forward to Saturdays in basically the same way I used to as a kid, then for cartoons and now for postings by two of my favorite machinist YouTubers, @QuinnDunki (Blondihacks) and James Clough (Clough42). It really is one of the highlights of my week.

@dpp Haha, it's funny, isn't it? We always wondered why that was an expression but of course as an adult I realize now it's because it really was pretty recent. Indeed, 1928 is to my birth year as 1979 is to today.

Meh, I don't feel like spending 30 minutes driving to Home Depot to buy shelf brackets. I'll just spend a few hours modeling one and tweaking the plasma cutter instead. Made three, so each one probably only cost me a few hundred dollars!

@craigandera Let’s look ahead. Future expansion seems inevitable at this rate. I propose the OG shop is the Shire. New workshop is Rivendell. Next can be Lothlórien. 🧝‍♂️

Now I am faced with a minor nomenclature problem. Is this room I’m expanding into "the new shop"? "The metal shop"? "The machine shop"? "Shop II"? Will contain mostly metalworking tools, although my wife asked me if it can host her pottery wheel. (Yes.)
