I defy anyone to listen to this interview with @AngelaRayner and reach any other conclusion than that the Deputy Prime Minister has tried to do the right thing at every turn in a complex, technical area of tax policy. We all rely on advice. Anyone could have made this mistake.

@Louchepunter Absolutely simple, for years & years it’s always been free to view the Derby from the Hill now they’re charging an entry fee so thousands not bothering.

I know it was raining for part of the day, but I have never seen the infield so empty in the all the time I’ve been going to The Derby. If rain is an excuse, how did Churchill Downs get 147,000 (down 6% from last year) at the Kentucky Derby a month ago?
