@cyb3rops @UK_Daniel_Card AI is absolutely fantastic for all of those use cases where you would make that quantity vs certainty trade. Namely for things you would never have paid money for humans to do in the first place. AI’s best use right now is to take the jobs nobody ever does.

My whole argument regarding AI boils down to this: >>> AI increases output much faster than it increases certainty <<< Yes, it generates more code, more prototypes, more pull requests and more “solutions”. But every generated line still needs ownership, review, testing, debugging and long-term maintenance by humans. And I think the market currently underestimates how expensive that last part really is.

@ZackKorman We are just cycling out of the “Spend $100k a month per person on tokens or else” narrative for silicon valley so there are still some misconceptions that SAAS is dead and claude is its replacement. Gonna take some time before the C suite is ready to pivot on that

The biggest threat AI poses to cybersecurity isn't the vulnerability apocalypse. It's that it’s now trivially cheap for security vendors to build products that look like they work but don’t. The real threat actors are the unethical vendors we met along the way.

@RobProvince Is it a turnkey $250k or would you need a bit of reno to get it rentable? I don’t disagree with you but properties, materials, and labor have all been high lately. Investment property can be high risk with high reward and not without turbulence.

Bullshit. At $250,000 your payment is maybe $1500 depending on your interest rate. You can rent the lower unit for $600-$750. So you’re owning a home. A property. For $750-$900/month. That you can sell later for a profit or keep and have passive income.
RaptorAdaptor@RaptorAdapt0r

@RobProvince $250k is still insane.

Major companies are getting pwned by browser extensions and npm packages, but they think deploying AI agents will go fine. Good luck, have fun.

@CryptoCyberia AI has made this worse for me in cybersecurity. The scope and pace of work has risen dramatically and it is difficult to keep up. Offshoring and AI replacement is always looming.

To the crypto/other startup peoples, is this a common thing for you to experience emotionally? Even if I am diligent for the entire day, working from when I wake up until ~an hour before I sleep and getting a lunch takeout, I still feel like I am not being productive enough/I am failing/I need to be better. I didn't really have this feeling at my last gig at Liquid, but then again, I also got laid off, which I think just fuels this attitude more. On days that I have marked for being off work, I never really have a feeling that I need to work this day anyways to "catch up" or whatever, probably since I tell myself I need this day off to avoid burn out and be successful. It's important to remind myself that startups/trading/outreach/poker/tweeting bangers/whatever else I have done is a marathon, not a sprint, but I am curious if this is a common thing. I think a lot of it has to do with there being a never-ending list of things to do, and the founders that I have ended up working for are VERY impressive people, which is really motivating, but also makes me feel like I suck in comparison, even though I know that I am fucking great.

@ZackKorman I see two conflicting trends here. You have coinbase letting non technical teams push code to prod, and you have cloudflare stating that defense in depth arch design is needed. What org is that patient with the AI rollout to do what cloudflare is recommending right now?

Cloudflare is right about this. You're not going to be able to patch fast enough, but you can build your systems so that the vast majority of vulnerabilities don't matter. If you've not done that, you're going to have a bad time.

It's been fascinating to watch mainstream liberal culture slowly boil every human quality down to politics Is he the greatest guitarist of all time? "Well I can't answer that question until I see their tweets during Covid"
Robin Monotti@robinmonotti

Rolling Stone moved Eric Clapton down from the top 10 of greatest guitar players of all time to 35 because he admitted to being Covid "vaccine" injured & refused to discriminate on entry to his concerts based on "vaccine" status. They even admit the reasoning in the explanation!

@ZackKorman @rez0__ Im assuming if he had the user database he likely had the emails of the users. It would have been better to email all of the users that there is a vuln that isnt being patched before disclosing the vuln itself. I probably would have just tried harder to contact the org

Security people: This behavior is completely unacceptable. I don't care that you sent a few emails and got ignored. You don't get to drop this info publicly and put these users at greater risk. He's been called out by multiple people (@rez0__) and is doubling down. Not cool.

@GayBearRes You can be a great person and an ineffective or ill timed politician. Cornyn is disliked because of his support for gun control bills (as a TX Sen!) that had no benefit to the public for seemingly nothing in return. Both parties are done with compromise without real results
