Last night, there were widespread cancellations of @northernassist services causing chaos at stations. It can’t go on. Following a special Rail North Committee, I have written to the Chancellor to ask that a pending agreement on rest day working is approved as soon as possible.

@macnahgalla I work, so does my partner. We also receive UC as a top up. And without these offers of entry to attractions, we would not be able to take our children to visit places of interest, so very grateful. We still have to take into account other costs to visit.

So I’m in London for the weekend. “Her indoors” wants to visit the Tower of London. Entry is £34.80 each. If I were on universal credit or other benefits then that entry price would be reduced to a single £1.00. Why do we reward those unwilling to work? This country is so fucked….

Rachel Reeves is under pressure to cancel free prescriptions for 60-65yr olds They better not as I & many already have to wait an extra 6yrs for our Pension & also Scotland & Wales get theirs for free If they can afford to put illegals in Hotels they can damn well afford this

@pipbegley @Jenny_1884 You can get a prepayment card, unlimited meds a month for as little as just over the price of 1 prescription a month.

@Jenny_1884 Mine would cost best part of £120 a month minimum.

Listen to me, parents of Y6s. A lot of you will be looking round potential high schools in the next few weeks. Ask the right questions. It’s not about pastoral care or GCSE outcomes. You *need to know* if they supply the ingredients for food tech

@RogersHistory Currently visiting schools for yr7 next year. 2 schools option shirt with tie, or jumper or blazer. Another have brought out a polo tshirt and blazer just on assembly day. 3rd school full tie jumper and blazer all compulsory. Gone with 1 and 2 on option form.

Would it be better for UK schools do just ditch school uniforms completely? Stories almost daily now about how parents are disgusted with one uniform rule or another, then you have the cost issue etc. is it worth it? Other countries don’t have them and seem to do ok?

@MrMcEnaney Going through the school choices for yr6 25". Visited 3. 2 have relaxed. Either a blazer, jumper or tie. Another one has a polo shirt but need to wear blazer on assembly day. 3rd school compulsory all 3. So going for first 2. In UK.

I'm sure there's going to be lots of ridiculous, click-baity hand-wringing over it but the Scottish Govt is absolutely right to say that school blazers shouldn't be compulsory. They've got a lot wrong, but not this. heraldscotland.com/news/24578170.…

Am I a terrible person? Seeing so many posts in FB groups from women who pack their bloke's case for holiday I would not dream of doing this! I have no idea what he packs. It is not my job Who packs for their other half? Yes, or No

@BraaiKing_Bad My mother did until 5 years ago when I walked away from her emotional abuse, which I had put up with so long then i couldn't take it anymore. She died this year. The sense of relief I can never be hurt again.

I am 41 years old and still, my mother treat me like a child. Is this normal?

@bbceducation No need for secondary blazers, ties and logo on pe kits. What's wrong with plain colours. A plain white tshirt or shirt. Plain school coloured jumper. Nobody wears ties or blazers at work anymore. No need for it. No good for SEN.
