We paid into the system our entire lives.
Worked. Paid taxes. Bought homes.
Now when we need care, we’re told it’s $4,000–$8,000 a month or sell everything.
Why are seniors being pushed to pay corporations like Chartwell Retirement Residences…
…instead of accessing the public long-term care we paid into?
Because Doug Ford didn’t keep up with public long-term care.
Why should we be forced to sell our homes, homes meant to be passed on to our children, just to age safely?
We want to be able to pass something on to give our kids even a small chance in Ontario. A chance to maybe put a down payment on a home. A start in life.
This isn’t normal. We cannot normalize this.

Metrolinx managed to build the Eglinton Crosstown, a 20 km stretch of track, for just $20 billion in only 20 years.
We should hire them to build a high-speed rail line from Toronto to Quebec City. They could easily do it in just twelve decades for only $800 billion.

@toronto_morning Depends on when you retire (age) If you have less the 39 years max contributions you will get less than max.
You also need to understand that drop out years can affect overall payment. (if you retire early than 65)
