If you’ve not tried an eReader recently, it might be worth another go. I love my Kobo Sage (which admittedly is the pricey end of the market) but there is a lot more choice available now for digital readers (phones & tablets too, of course) #ebook arstechnica.com/gadgets/2022/1…

The colour won’t be anywhere as good as print or even a tablet, but it suddenly maps will be readable, colour coding is possible (on your own notes too) and much more.

From @thebookseller - “Bloomsbury expects revenue and profit to exceed expectations with growth driven by fantasy” [much like all other publishers, then… here all week, try the fish etc] #publishing

A wonderful tribute to my former colleague @HeraBooks and long time publishing friend, the irrepressible Lindsey Mooney: thebookseller.com/news/hera-book… We went to the same school and shared the same journey from Norwich into digital publishing and then founding indies. She is deeply missed.

Personal news! After nine years, I am stepping down from day to day work @canelo_co to focus on AI writing and research. More here: thebookseller.com/news/bhaskar-s… Such a tough decision. I'll be staying on as a Non-Exec and will remain closely engaged. It's been an incredible journey, and I'm hugely proud of everything we have achieved. We've sold 20 million books at the best royalty rates on offer in the industry. It's been an immense privilege to work with so many talented authors and colleagues. Can't quite believe it is happening, but excited for next steps as well.

Planning to start today's class on publishing and technology, with a brief history lesson on the path the music industry took from CD>mp3.Napster>iTunes>Spotify. And I've just realised that most of the students are younger than Napster. :-O

Hey @MicrosoftHelps - the ability to email to groups on Outlook for Mac was supposed to be coming soon ages ago - my previous message seems to have disappeared but a dev said it was imminent. Any news? Pretty basic requirement for an email app, I’d say, yet it’s been MIA for ages

I found this a very depressing read for a number of reasons (and the article conflates fiction marketing with all book publishing). If you trust influencers, caveat emptor #publishing -> The Merch-ification of Book Publishing flip.it/0AythB

@Louiestowell I was there, too. Always amazing hearing thousands of people all singing along to that song.

@Outlook when are you going to enable Contact lists on new Mac Outlook? It has been months and having the grayed-out option is just trolling Mac users #outlook #mac

@Outlook Thanks for the reply - I have commented. It’s been ‘not currently available’ for over a year - ‘currently’ implies an imminence which seems unjustified in this case.

@iucounu The cast were the biggest problem for me, followed by the script. Premise was interesting though.
