Another relationship trait we ignore is having to be with a funny lover. When last did your partner make you laugh genuinely via conversations/wit ?

It is the responsibility of parents to teach kids contentment and values It is much easier to teach contentment if the basic needs are met. At the time I attended secondary school, my parents were not rich. My school mates were from rich homes and they couldn't imagine I resumed late due to fees. They always assumed I stayed back to watch football. Yes, I did watch football but that was not why I was late. It was hard to explain because people intentionally came late because they were abroad or because they just felt like. Importantly, nobody would search your bag if you're late because you have enough time to hide contraband before school hours is over. I had classmates that did midterm (Wednesday to Sunday) in the US and UK. Half of the school went abroad on holiday. The ones living outside Lagos were driven to the airport where they flew to their various states of residence. I boarded my first flight a year after I left secondary school. Lets not talk about provision. You'll think some people were planning to open a supermarket. I played Premier League football because friends bought football from UK when they were buying their customised jersey and boots. Conversations were different but interesting. Secondary school gave me exposure and better polish. I understood better how the world worked from a point of privilege and a point of disprivilege. I am forever grateful for going there. What secondary school didn't teach me was to lack self esteem or ask my parents to buy anything they couldn't afford or do things because my schoolmates were doing it. As a child, depending on your mindset, it can be hard but it is just in your head because in hindsight, we were just kids who loved each other, had fun and spent 6 years of our lives together. Their privilege was just their reality just like mine was my reality. The absence of social media might have helped because I never had to bother what my classmates were doing during the holiday. I was just happy to be home till the next resumption. I didn't even have a phone to call. We will see when next we see. We lived in different localities so meeting for PS 2 was impossible unless I was going to ask my busy parents to drop me and pick me up. Naaaaa. Fast forward to University, unlike my siblings who went to private universities, I went to UNIBEN and I found myself in the position of the friends I used to have in secondary school. People saw me as privileged. I always flew to school, I had enough monthly allowance, I spoke differently(mindset not accent) because of my exposure and was accused of not knowing how to speak proper pidgin, my reasoning was different. But then, I wasn't lofty minded. My home training and personal values taught me kindness. I was kind to everyone in school because I understood what it meant to not have. I remember one incidence in 400level where I opened my box and a friend screamed that I brought supermarket to school. I just smiled and shook my head. I asked him to take whatever he wanted. That was how my hostel mates started asking and I just shared the box. All I could think of was my secondary school and what he would think if he saw what people brought to school. My pinned tweet will pass the rest of the message. Point is, teach your kids the right values and they will know how to filter the right values from such an environment. There is so much more your kids can take from a privileged school and from privileged mates. It is also important to vet the school. School is not just about academics. It should teach values and my secondary school did just that.

Imagine your child coming home to tell you stories of class mates holidays in the abroad and how they came back with all the cool school supplies and as a parent, you can’t afford it 🥹 This happens year in,year out and you think the child’s esteem won’t be affected? Dey play

I need Men to stop learning how to be a ‘Gentleman’… You’re already a Gentleman by default.. it’s in your nature.. What you should learn is RUTHLESSNESS.. because the world out there isn’t designed to appreciate you and your sacrifices. I’ll prove to you how you’re a gentleman by default. . . . Notice how when driving, you just feel the need to slowdown for Women(to cross the road) more than you do for Men ? Notice how you just naturally give your Mum more money than you give your Dad ? Notice how you just always feel your mum is the right one whenever she gets in an altercation with your dad ? Notice how you just naturally send more money to your kid-sister compared to how you send to your kid-bro ? Notice how when you see a Woman tear up, it touches you more than seen a Man wail ? You see how nobody taught you all those… it’s already in you.. it’s very natural.. + do you see anyone ever point all those things out and appreciate you for being like that by default ? The answer is NO.. So.. the trait you should LEARN in life as a Man is RUTHLESSNESS.. and balance it. You’re welcome!👌

1. Don’t date one woman at a time 2. Don’t take women serious 3. She is yours only when she is with you 4. Her definition of cheating is based on her mood for that day 5. She doesn’t appreciate anything you do for her 6. Don’t ever think she is telling the truth 7. A bad virgin is better than a good non-virgin 8. She is only telling you about the guys she doesn’t like 9. The less you love her, the more she loves you 10. Her friends and her are the same
