@AriWasserman Fact is when the SEC was winning every SEC homer was saying “our conference prepares us because it’s so tough, that’s why we win”. Now everyone is paying players like many of them were forever, it’s a different spin - “we’re so deep everyone is beat up and that’s why we lose”.

The concept of the article isn’t that the SEC grind isn’t real. In fact, I acknowledged that point in the column. The problem I have is using that as an excuse for why the Big Ten has won three in a row.
Matthew@MattLovesVinyl

@AriWasserman Question Ari: How many years has the SEC had the most NFL draft picks in a row? The answer is 20. The SEC, compared to the B1G, also has far more variety in teams with NFL draft picks. The SEC having better players on more teams means the SEC Grind is real. Unassailable Logic.

@PacersKev @ScottAgness Dumber than dumb. Sorry doesn’t cut it. This wasn’t worth the risk and you took it. You can’t bank on “we were due some luck”. This will never be forgotten.

I'm really sorry to all our fans. I own taking this risk. Surprised it came up 5th after this year. I thought we were due some luck. But please remember - this team deserved a starting center to compete with the best teams next year. We have always been resilient.

@RapSheet Who would make the trade after Ballard came out and said he would honor the release request if he wasn’t traded. I mean I’m not a GM but no way I am trading for a guy you just guaranteed you would release. Another stellar Chris Ballard move. @Colts

@WISHNews8 Ha, that’s funny him pulling “tradition”. So “tradition” of the shot clock keeps it but the “tradition” of the greatest high school tournament in the country with single class wasnt good enough? Does Paul have a 2nd job downtown with the NCAA?

BREAKING: The proposal for a 35-second shot clock in Indiana high school basketball failed to pass. IHSAA commissioner Paul Neidig shares with WISH-TV his thoughts on the decision: "Tradition certainly carries a lot here in Indiana. Maybe more than other states."

I don't write longform stories very often. But three months later, I'm still endlessly fascinated by Curt Cignetti and national champion Indiana. Read it for free: The story of their journey to the top. nytimes.com/athletic/72463…

@Hoosier_Review @IndySports Not sure what this guy is talking about. I’ve never read one thing that said Purdue wasn’t out in front for this kid and everyone else was playing catchup. Not one person with knowledge has said anything different than that.

@aguyman_ Talk about screaming for the entire world to know, you are clueless. Maybe research where Cignetti was in 2022, it’s called Google really easy.

Division I Board of Directors on Monday directed the Division I Cabinet to advance an age-based eligibility concept that, if adopted in its current form, would permit student-athletes up to 5 years of eligibility beginning the regular academic year after they turn 19 or graduate from high school, whichever happens earlier. Under that model, Division I student-athletes would no longer be limited to only four seasons of competition within their five-year eligibility window.

@TravisBranham_ It will be a complete 💩 show if this passes and they make it effective immediately. If they want to pass it which I still hate, you make it effective moving forward not retro.

Just a hunch: the prices for players in the portal will drop substantially with the anticipation of “5 in 5”. One power five program told me today they are going to apply the brakes in the portal with the anticipation of this passing.

Indiana football was nothing until Cignetti came along; you aren't special, and I highly doubt many people even know who you are outside of Indiana. You're just using Alabama for clicks because Indiana isn’t a big enough brand to get you the attention you want.

@Rick_Devens Respect the play but the fact you wouldn’t show the idol nor did you even open it secretly so you could see it but somehow knew it was an idol and you knew when it could be played, they should have gone all in on you at that moment.

@JBoudouris @StubHub @BarstoolBigCat StubHub is awful and I mean awful. Not as much $ as you lost but they had their system hacked and someone added a fake payment acct to my info. They paid them $300 for tickets I sold. When I contacted them they refused to make it right. Said I was paid and there was no fraud.

I'm sharing this on social media as a warning to others who use the platform to buy/sell tickets. Going forward I will not be using Stubhub for any future sporting event/concert ticket purchases. @StubHub @BarstoolBigCat

For anyone who uses StubHub to buy/sell tickets, a cautionary post... I purchased four tickets to all three sessions of March Madness in St Louis on March 20 and 22 for $2000 total. When Illinois did not end up in the STL bracket, I sold the tickets on Stubhub on March 15...
