First, the complaint was that he shouldn’t have left. Now the complaint is that he shouldn’t have accepted the call-up at all.
The flaw in your argument is assuming that because a due date exists, the exact timing and circumstances of childbirth are predictable. They aren’t.
More importantly, you’re calling childbirth a “non-life threatening event” as if the only reason a husband should be present is if someone might die.
By that logic, fathers shouldn’t attend births, weddings, graduations, or funerals unless there’s an emergency.
The reality is simple: the coaching staff knew the situation, selected him anyway, and approved his absence. If anyone mismanaged the situation, your issue is with the federation, not the player.
You’re treating a child being born like it’s a dentist appointment that can be rescheduled.
