China is winning the electricity race: China now generates a record 10,000 TWh of electricity annually. Meanwhile, the US produces 4,500 TWh, or -55% less than China's output. Since 2019, Chinese power generation has surged +2,500 TWh, or +33%. Over the same period, the US has added just +221 TWh, or +6%, while Europe recorded a -110 TWh decline. In other words, China's electricity generation has grown ~11 TIMES faster than the US over the last 6 years. The energy gap has never been wider.

I'm glad to see other serious builders in the industry catch up to the fact that RAG is basically dead Fun fact: this insight formed the basis of our intuition when we trained SWE-grep and built Fast Context with it Traditionally, agent builders had two options for context retrieval: - Embedding Search (RAG): fast, but imprecise - Agentic Search: slow, but precise It felt like an inescapable tradeoff - you could choose either slow + smart or fast + dumb So we trained a model (SWE-grep) and built a third option: fast + smart. That's what powers Fast Context in Windsurf

In the coming weeks, we plan to start testing ads in ChatGPT free and Go tiers. We’re sharing our principles early on how we’ll approach ads–guided by putting user trust and transparency first as we work to make AI accessible to everyone. What matters most: - Responses in ChatGPT will not be influenced by ads. - Ads are always separate and clearly labeled. - Your conversations are private from advertisers. - Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise tiers will not have ads.

@thinkingshivers Been loving the game, thanks for the daily dopamine. Could you add a normalized score to the Share text so there’s more granularity than medals alone? Raw score can be a soft spoiler, but a normalized % (best for that day = 100%) would allow ranking without revealing the target

my biggest holiday LLM revelation was that Opus is just a magnificent chat model, far better than anything else i’ve ever tried. swapped from ChatGPT to Claude as daily chat app. finding myself asking way more & weirder questions than i ever asked Chat, and loving it
