@jsnyder81 @_bryan_ward_ @TracketPacer When that intern pressed the red button in a datacenter thinking it was to unlock the doors

@etherealmind On the fip side, PANW has no comprehensive wired/wireless networking solution and FTNT has no data center fabric. Every vendor has pros and cons.
English

@csampson01 If I was looking whole-of-business solution, PANW and FTNT offers branch, campus, wireless, DC and various cloud security tools. Also a in-house CASB and more.
HPE security has some point solutions but no coherent one supplier capability. Or am I missing something ?
English

@etherealmind You talked a bit about this on network break 420.
English

HPE Aruba are talking about future SASE at their Atmosphere conference apparently. Haven’t seen a press release or analyst note, I’ll go digging and see if anything is out there.
EtherealMind@etherealmind
It’s 2023, HPE still doesn’t have a firewall product that it owns. Aruba can implement filtering but it doesn’t have a firewall either. I find this remarkable that HPE would skip the hottest market segment in Enterprise IT.

@ArubaNetworks AP-635 moved into home production ✅ #WPA3 enabled ✅ 6 GHz Wi-Fi enabled ✅ Now just waiting on my new #6E @Apple #iPadPro to be delivered tomorrow! #applefinallyhasa6Edevice

@etherealmind @supertylerc Perhaps you and I can start a vendor and do what we want :)
English

@supertylerc @etherealmind Can’t comment on ethics, global trade policies and export control practices that vendors do or do not implement or adhere to. But might be worth considering some of the below in relation to your comment? I don’t think every1 simply wants to send marketing en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Export_of…

Seriously, vendors (Cisco, Juniper, Arista, Palo Alto, Aruba): how can I advocate or publicly do _anything_ cool if *my* target audience can’t get a publicly-accessible instance of your OS? At this point, everything I do that’s focused on community or reproducibility is #SRlinux.

@nowireless4u @WazzFi I still have those same large Turtle figurines stashed somewhere from when I was a kid.
English

@pat_devlin I can set you up a 9004 gateway. Or ask @AdventureMatt about his Starlink + NBN setup

@charlottelyng @troyhunt Melbourne, on the morning peninsula. They do some great gins.
English

@csampson01 @troyhunt We have to try that. Where is it from?
English

That’s it - the OOO is on - and thus begins an epic thread of amazing Aussie scenery the likes I’ve never seen before. There will be a lot of beaches, blue water and amazing scenery from a *very* special place we’re super excited about. Oh - and cool drinks - speaking of which…

@sethfiermonti @joeneville_ #1 brings back some memories from back in the day. Power kill switch was supposed to have been decommissioned and someone thought it would be fun to push…That turned into a very late night recovering servers and apps.
English

@joeneville_ Ohhh I’ll go next. 1. Intern pressed big red button in DC. 2. Bit flipping with every n-th packet in a Foundry ServerIron. 3. BAD SDRAM in almost every line card (also Foundry - FastIrons).

The first @ArubaNetworks CX 4100i in ANZ! Ruggedised industrial switching up to 70°C ambient (and -40°C too if you work in Antarctica). @ArubaAPAC

@timcappalli Meh I donno, just haven't had the experience of sitting down and thinking to myself, I wish I had a keyboard so I could write my memoirs on my little watch.
