@CSexton25
Tennessee State Representative for the 25th District | Speaker of the Tennessee House of Representatives

Great to join @GovBillLee and First Lady Maria Lee in Crossville for the America 250 Tour stop. @GrinderHouseCof is a local staple. Asa and Angela lead a fantastic team serving some of the best coffee around. Proud to highlight one of Crossville’s best!

Thank you for your leadership, @csexton25 @senjohnson @williamlamberth @jasonzacharytn Education belongs to the states!

Under Speaker @CSexton25’s leadership, @tnhousegop has made protecting Tennesseans a priority. We have passed my bill creating a class A misdemeanor to be an illegal with a CDL in TN. It also creates a private right of action against the company that hired the illegal or state that issues the CDL, if the illegal causes injury or damages property. The bill is headed to the @GovBillLee for his signature. Tennessee’s roadways will be safer with this law. @WhiteHouse

Tennessee just delivered a major win for families. The House has now concurred with the Senate, sending Education Freedom Scholarship expansion to the Governor’s desk for signature. That means more students, more opportunity, and real progress toward clearing the waitlist. Great work, Tennessee. 🇺🇸 @CSexton25 @WilliamLamberth @SenJohnson @ltgovmcnally @BillLeeTN

I want to thank Speaker Sexton @CSexton25 and Lt. Gov. McNally @ltgovmcnally for their close collaboration on this bill. They have been working hard for Memphis long before I got in the Senate, and their partnership to #MakeMemphisMatter is essential! Our legislature’s leadership is determined to give Memphis safe streets and strong schools. We won’t back down!

“In my opinion as Comptroller, [the Memphis-Shelby County School District] is the worst management of any organization I have seen in my career. I would say, in fact, that it is unprecedented for an organization of this size and scope.”

The First Amendment does not give anyone free license to break the law or block traffic. The “No Kings” protest was commandeered by a group of protesters who turned what had been a peaceful demonstration by Weathered Purple-Haired Hippies into an illegal road blockade endangering the lives of law-abiding citizens and law enforcement officers. Memphis Police responded appropriately to these disrespectful lawbreakers. Who remembers when the Bridge Bandit rioters blocked the I-40 bridge and no arrests were made? I am disappointed these officers have been placed on Administrative Leave to placate a very small but very loud group of anti-police agitators. To #MakeMemphisMatter and restore order, police must be able to clear blocked roads. I commend them for doing their job. The only public response should be a simple “thank you.”

Appreciate @A1Policy, @ErikaDonalds, @Linda_McMahon and @realDonaldTrump for standing with us as we fight to give every Tennessee family the freedom to choose the best education for their child.
