I am a Christian, and I have two daughters. Both my daughters attend public school. When my daughters were old enough to go to school I felt so much pressure from the Christian culture to homeschool them. I went to public school and had a really good experience, but everyone was treating public school like it was the devils playground. I tried to homeschool my oldest in preschool and I realized how terribly unequipped I was to teach. I didn’t have the discipline, nor the mental capacity to teach from home. I think public school is great. The teachers are all so intentional, the school counselors are lovely, and their principal remembers their names and things about them. We are very involved parents. We go on field trips, take them to school events, and go to all their conferences. Honestly, public school gets way too much hate.

There is a lot to unpack here. 1. Christian children are not promised. 2. It assumes to gospel is not strong enough to overcome secular ideology 3. You assume that public school is filled with the same type of teacher, wolves, but that is just not supported by data. You are just making a truth claim without evidence. 4. I immensely value my faith. I also understand God is far more powerful than a worldly ideology. It seems you do not share that opinion.

Ohhhh yeah, your kid is so smart they'll be the exception and not abandon their faith because you fed them to the wolves. Public school is more than academics. They will indoctrinate your kids to hate what you say you value. If of course you really do value the Christian faith.

They “seem corrupt?” Is that what discernment ministries have come to now? Bad vibes? You claim Paula is “utterly corrupt.” Is this going to be the next 14 hour docu-drama? Bring the receipts. And they need to be current because you spoke in the present tense. In my experiences with Paula, she’s humble, kind, genuine in her love for the Lord, open about past mistakes, and she’s tireless in her desire to serve and willingness to sacrifice. Show me how that’s all fake. Mike, you’re a smart & gifted guy. Use your gifting for good. it’s easy to tear down; it’s harder to build up. You can help build a Christian nation that blesses future generations. That can’t happen with combative in-fighting and pearl-clutching over secondary issues. Not only can various tribes of Christians work together for good. We can even appreciate other’s unique strengths and overlook weaknesses. It doesn’t mean we all have to be members in the same church or agree about everything.

I really want to be more involved in Christian political advocacy in future years but I am concerned that so many of the ministers high up in political connection seem corrupt. I’m not sure of how much I can do working alongside people like that. I mean, people like the utterly corrupt Paula White. If you can stomach her as your spiritual friend then I don’t know how to work with that. Perhaps I am better off on the outside if major Christian-named political influencers and groups can’t bring themselves to mark and avoid Paula White. I still have time to work through this but think it’s good to openly acknowledge the elephants in the room. I say “elephants” because Paula White is merely a stand-in for so many names.

Some ministry news I wish to share. These are very normal things. And, in this case, concerns a plan that’s been in place for several years. We just didn’t want a 3-year farewell. Lol. That would be a bit much. The letter I wrote beneath the video on YouTube will also help explain. Not retiring. Just laying aside some of the heavier responsibilities so I can spend my last chapter teaching, speaking and writing but not overseeing a busy ministry. I won’t pretend I’ve not cried 10,000 tears and 1000 of them this morning because I love my LPM/LPL teams so much and I can’t even picture the other side without all of them in my constant life. But it is crucial that we make this transition not only for me in my aging but for them in their own vocations so they are set free with my blessing to pursue their next chapters.
