✨I have bipolar 2 disorder and I am a Christian. This is not shameful. It is not sinful. It happens to be how God created me. I take 4 medications every single day and this keeps me stable. I have an additional 2 medications for emergencies. I will probably be on medication my whole life, and that’s okay. Just like we would never question or shame a person who is diabetic for taking insulin, we shouldn’t shame or insult someone who takes medication for a mental illness. I want to break some of the stigma surrounding mental health illness and medication usage. I’m only one person, but if I can positively impact one individual I think it’s worth it. There are far too many people suffering silently because the Church has told them it’s their sin, its lack of contentment, it is because they don’t trust God, because they are immature, or because they lack obedience. I’m looking to carve out a corner of the internet where those who suffer can find friend not foe. What are some things you’ve heard from the Church when you have suffered from mental health problems? Did this impact you negatively? Did it prevent you from getting proper care? As a book reccomendation check out @anna_gazmarian memoir! You will feel seen. #MentalHealthAwareness

I am a Christian, and I have two daughters. Both my daughters attend public school. When my daughters were old enough to go to school I felt so much pressure from the Christian culture to homeschool them. I went to public school and had a really good experience, but everyone was treating public school like it was the devils playground. I tried to homeschool my oldest in preschool and I realized how terribly unequipped I was to teach. I didn’t have the discipline, nor the mental capacity to teach from home. I think public school is great. The teachers are all so intentional, the school counselors are lovely, and their principal remembers their names and things about them. We are very involved parents. We go on field trips, take them to school events, and go to all their conferences. Honestly, public school gets way too much hate.

Their evidence is their lived experience. The fact you go straight to oh you just “think” this happened shows you don’t think this is a common and well documented issue which it is. But also I have now seen other comments by you and clearly you support the woke grooming of kids and wouldn’t care if your kids were told they could choose their gender. Idk how you can claim to be a Christian while saying it’s ok to corrupt and groom children or even young adults.

@EruditeTogether Just had a mom tell me that her child in public school (1st grade), got an award for behavior. She asked how, child said she was the only one not throwing chairs in class. Teachers monitor was smashed by a flying chair. In a “good district”, in a state known for good schools.

@nickitruesdell For context: I had a severe undiagnosed mental illness (bipolar) and a newborn. Am I capable of teaching preschool? Yes. Am I good at teaching? Do I want to homeschool? No. It’s not my calling and gifting.

@EruditeTogether I’m pleased you had a good experience. For us at 6 years old they’d already started with gender ideology and racial guilting my child for having the wrong skin colour (white). They can’t be hated enough in my experience.

I don’t care? I wasn’t in AP classes. I was in student council and very involved in school. I didn’t go to university right away, but did put my husband through school. I want my kids to do what aligns with their goals, if AP classes align with their goals? Let’s go! But, they also can take regular classes and be well rounded. I also read a books a year. We read a lot in this family, as I own a bookstore. You don’t need to excel in school to be smart, you need the skills to know how to excel in what is important to you - that’s what we prioritize.

They better be taking AP classes in public school. Otherwise, there's a good possibility that for most classes, the education of those daughters will be behind their private school counterparts.
