This is the first time in at least the last 3 seasons that a D-I school recorded a no-hitter in baseball and softball on the same day 😤

@BrendanThiry I haven’t seen it but typically for them to reverse a flagrant it has to be obviously a cylinder violation and a basketball play being made

@ElJefeTwoloom @TJLang70 I love the term “survive the ground” because that’s fully for the ground knocking the ball loose/ball hitting the ground but being in possession. That is not what happens here though, it gets pulled out by the DB which has nothing to do with surviving the ground

The more I watch it, the more I’m leaning towards this being a catch by Cooks. Knee/hip/shoulder down before the ball is ripped away. If you can’t rip the ball away from the RB after he hits the ground, why can you do it to a WR? I’m genuinely torn on this one.

@bhappier2 @MaggieGray My whole issue is there is no simultaneous possession, Cooks makes the grab and McMillan takes it after that. Simultaneous would mean they caught it together, which didn’t happen. I’m fine with the fact DB ends with ball, but we shouldn’t be using that particular rule here

@MaggieGray No need for an extended review. The rule is VERY clear cut on this. Simultaneous possession must be maintained throughout. It wasn’t. It’s an interception.

@PanthersAnalyst We could not rush the passer at all and our LBs are replacement level at best. His scheme is never gonna work with that setup, just wish he would’ve changed it up some when we knew that and stopped hoping the front 7 would be something it wasn’t.

But results-wise, he got a unit that was worst in the NFL historically to league average or near it

@djnnejehxixijsj @tjmcaulay DBs always play the man on deep routes, if you turn around you are burnt because you have no idea where the receiver is going. He had no trigger to look for the ball because the dude is lying flat on his face.

@ctwillis28 @tjmcaulay Because he wasn't playing the ball... You are always supposed to at least look back..especially in that situation with no threat. Before I saw the flag, my immediate reaction was laughing out loud and saying "that's why you play the ball you idiot, you would've had an easy pick."

Just looked at this and thought the same thing at first, that he tripped over his own feet. But look again. The back of the right heel contacts the right shin of the defender. Because the defender is not playing the ball, this feet entanglement becomes, by rule, defensive pass interference. The call was correct.
