I'm looking at data for my dissertation research and one of my students said that her IEP goals were, "to wrte paragraph with beginning middle end. And to be respectful of people but i dont like that goal." I feel that so hard, girl. 😂

@PazAerospace @thisone0verhere Yesterday I got to hear the entire beginner 5th grade horn section learn their first note for an entire block! I did not consider clashing overtones. 😂 Thanks for teaching me something new!

When composing horn parts for jazz orchestra; 'a real horn ensemble', the composer must consider how the overtones of the the horns (they are in just temperment) fit with equal temperment that most modern music is composed in. Put another way, the notes on the paper may look right but the overtones can clash. There are a few glaring errors arrangers are taught to avoid but other situations are up to the taste and artistic style the song is going for.

Pick a subject you know a lot about and tell me something interesting. Teach me something.

I'm teaching my daughter and her friend how to drive. They're very pleased that he parked between the lines for the first time!!
