Not only are we deploying US troops, and excavators and multiple aircraft carriers. But, we removed key aircraft carriers from high-risk theatres such as the Pacific. It's one thing to have all options available, but so far every claim Trump has made of de-escalation has been followed by more troops and more bombs.
Christian Klein@clkleinmonaco

Anyone who believes that the US is about to TACO needs to have his/her head examined. US troops are currently been flown to the Gulf and not bc they are going on paid vacations.

My whole adult life the narrative has been that conservatives are “patriots”, and liberals are the “American haters”. But liberals are desperately trying to save US democracy from a conservative movement hellbent on sacrificing it for one man’s ego. It’s exhausting.

Blatantly a constitutional violation, that I expect even this SCOTUS will strike down: * Coercion right off the bat. * Violates separations of powers. * Election clause is clear in state authority over regulations. The president has no executive authority over this.
Reagan Reese@reaganreese_

SCOOP: Trump will sign an executive order at 5pm, cracking down on mail-in voting across the country, @DailyCaller has learned. The executive order will require the admin to create a list of confirmed U.S. citizens who are eligible to vote in each state. It will also mandate that absentee ballots only be sent to those on each state's approved mail-in ballot list. Ballots will now have specific secure envelopes, with unique barcodes for tracking. States who disobey the order may lose federal funds under the presidential action.

The US military is well on its way to becoming a partisan political rogue federal agency just like all the others, largely because retired Republican veterans in Congress and elsewhere betray their oaths to the Constitution by remaining silent.

In what world is it okay for the Defense Secretary to make multi-million dollar investments in defense companies: a) Ever; b) Just before launching a war. FT has the scoop: ft.com/content/744ea8… In a functional democracy, he would offer his resignation tonight.

I am troubled by Trump. But I’m even more troubled by the Christians who defend him. Every time I hear @Franklin_Graham support Trump, I think of the words of his dad: “I don’t want to see religious bigotry in any form… It would disturb me if there was a wedding between the religious fundamentalists and the political right. The hard right has no interest in religion except to manipulate it.” – Billy Graham Follow Jesus. Not Trump.

Dictators in History: - Hitler – “The good of the state stands above the law.” - Mussolini – “Everything within the state, nothing outside the state, nothing against the state.” - Napoleon Bonaparte – “I am the revolution.” - Francisco Franco – “I am responsible only to God and to history.” Trump: "He who saves his country does not violate any law"

Funny how as times get tougher the Republicans are calling for working people to sacrifice meals and trips to Starbucks while cutting food benefits, healthcare, and public education but not asking for the rich to skip luxury vacations, yachts, and 5th homes while giving them more tax breaks. It’s almost like they are diverting our attention while looting our government.

To everyone dismissing today’s No Kings rallies: Symbolism is not weakness. Symbolism is how movements announce themselves to history. Not everyone can file a lawsuit. Not everyone can run for office. Not everyone can break a story or fund a campaign. But two hours in the street says something that cannot be ignored: We are here. We are counting. We are watching. Philadelphia filled. Atlanta marched. DC is building now. This is not the beginning of the resistance. This is the resistance announcing its size. Trump dismissed the Women’s March. Trump dismissed the George Floyd protests. Trump dismissed every crowd that showed up before. Like retweet and comment so this message goes far and wide!

Today’s final count: 7 million Americans. 3,000 cities. Every state. Philadelphia. Atlanta. Dallas. St. Paul. DC. San Francisco. 500,000 in London. Tel Aviv in the streets. A human banner on the Pacific Ocean spelling out: TRUMP MUST GO NOW. One of the largest single-day demonstrations in American history. The founders settled the kings question in 1776. America settled it again today. Never stop connecting the dots.

There’s a reason Washington didn’t do this. Jackson didn’t do this. Lincoln didn’t do this. TR didn’t do this. FDR didn’t do this. Reagan didn’t do this. They were all *real* American patriots. This is something you see in banana republics, from Mickey Mouse wannabe despots.

Just disgusting! US paper currency will bear Trump's signature to mark the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence, a first for a sitting president, while ‌deleting the Treasurer of the United States' signature from U.S. money for the first time in 165 years. reuters.com/world/us/trump…

People ask why I push back so hard on Donald Trump. It's simple: Tyranny requires your fear, your silence, and your compliance. Democracy requires your courage.

The lies defining this moment in America: -The 2020 election was stolen -There’s massive voter fraud -There’s an epidemic of noncitizens voting -We’ve been “invaded” by millions of criminals -Only an authoritarian government can fix these problems -Jesus agrees with all of this
