@ShitpostRock Also, lets say that its worth $80. Its NOT just $80. If you take out all the microtransactions, the intentionally grindy mechanics to sell xp boost in single player games, some even sells season pass in the game too. Its not game being $80. Its entry cost being $80.
RDR2 cost ~$400 million to make from the ground up and sold for $60.
Meanwhile Nintendo develops Mario Kart using reused assets for less than $50 million and wants to sell it for $90.
How can anyone possibly justify these atrocious prices from Nintendo?
@SebAaltonen@andkalysh Then it's best if you use actual devices to do the testing instead of emulation, get an Android device, an IOS device too. Emulation, depending on how you configure it may not be 1:1 to the user experience
@andkalysh Because I just compiled HypeHype to Android, Mac, iOS and Web. I am testing my tech changes on all the platforms at once. VSCode is for shaders. It has best shader language highlight plugins.
They say 8GB MacBook Air is good enough for all programmers...
Reality:
Xcode = 183GB
iTerm2 = 16GB
Android Studio = 12GB
Safari = 8GB
Slack = 3GB
VSCode = 1.5GB
I just tested my changes on Mac, iOS, Android, and WebGPU targets. 48GB MacBook Pro is the min spec.
@Xd1Perigoso@CualquieraMujer@Pirat_Nation Exactly. Fair tho. And hell, you don't even have to be Japanese to have that advantage, you just need to learn another language other than English
@SausageDays@LidiaVtuber@Pirat_Nation That just negates the point of the Japanese version, market demand just gonna make the multi language more expensive by default.
@LidiaVtuber@Pirat_Nation And we benefit from this launch too, more divided stock for different user groups means less incentive for this to be scalped. And the twitter sentiment is actually good too, less demand, less scalping.
@Pirat_Nation Pretty sure that’s a Japan only thing and has to do with the fact their yen is much lower value then USD so they are trying to avoid everyone importing JPN consoles
@Pirat_Nation No, the Japanese gets their own stock with a discounted price so that scalpers and passport bros won't hike it up to 700$
Not the most ideal way but preferable.
@DonnSteezy@randomfrankp Same brother. I like PC just as much as the next guy but i ain't gonna pretend the Steam Deck is actually portable or competent.
@AdeIica@DonnSteezy@randomfrankp Brother, even now you will need a 1k rig at the very least to play TOTK at one place at 60fps. The switch 2 can do that with portability and a good form factor.
This is also a horrible time to glaze PC right now, like you couldn't get a competent graphics card with switch 2 💰
@randomfrankp@DonnSteezy No you can't, you cannot be in the camp of people that go "60fps or nothing" and also say that the state of switch emulation on the deck is acceptable.
@randomfrankp Yall glazing the steam deck so hard like it is not a brick shithouse to carry with sub par specs.
Look i like pc handhelds just like the next guy, but the actual good ones ain't cheap, and the cheap ones ain't good.
@Pirat_Nation No, the msrp of the PS5 was 500$, the market price was 1000$ due to scalpers. And there was barely any games on it. And arguably, the PS5 still has no games.
