Serious question. What is the motivation to switch. It can't be the paycheck, it remains the same. It can't be career advancement, your riding is Conservative and you will be booted out in a few years. It can't be for relationships, you just proved yourself a traitor to your electorate and everyone who got you where you are, even liberals won't trust you. Can't be a change of political views. You don't spend 10 year railing against high taxes, unaffordable homes, massive deficits and inflation to suddenly align the disastrously Liberal policies. So what's left? A secret golden parachute in the Cayman Islands? Promise of some future job with a liberal aligned company?

I'm going to make a wild prediction here. China will pay *almost* zero consequences for its Iran support. China will dial back rare earth threats and, as a result, they will get cheap oil. These are not stupid people. They're greedy and petty and cruel, but not stupid.
