@cyclicallysynic

The circle of life is a wheel of fortune - but the cycle of cynicism takes away the leap of faith - to win is to survive.

@mrmikeMTL February 09 2009. The greatest transfer in wealth started that day; a process that continues now - with the players becoming increasingly desperate to maintain control.

@littlecaesars So uhhh. What’s the mythology behind the Caesar character and why is he little? Because we know what happened to Caesar-Caesar and ain’t nobody wants that. Also; really missing a great cross-marketing history lesson. Do Easter Jeep Safari. Cross the Rubicon.

I mean those only ran 7 seasons because they got popular, they could’ve gone longer, but production budgets were growing, people wanted to move onto other projects, etc. I’d rather just start with full seasons (at least 22-26 episodes), enough of this 10 episode crap. I think the reason things are going so poorly is because we don’t get some of those great filler episodes like we did in the past. I’m rewatching DS9 right now and filler episodes like “Little Green Men” and “Explorers” and others are such great small world building episodes that the newer series are all lacking. They also don’t need to be anything crazy production wise, existing sets, locations, etc can all be used with minimal extra work and still make great episodes. It’s all move the story forward episodes, throw in SOME character/world building but ultimately get to the big grand finale episode to finish the season. We don’t get to really take a breath and just enjoy the world.

@mark_slapinski The danger of course is not that they’re moving into silent acceptance; but rather isolating themselves from the rhetoric to avoid being a target. The left doesn’t realize who or what they’re losing.

@mark_slapinski The majority just want to be left alone, able to live their lives. Go to work, earn a meaningful income. They’re tired of being vilified or labeled for speaking out against the insanity; the projections of Liberalism literally shattering friendships and families.

Conservatism in Canada is DEAD. What we have now is an assortment of Maple Maga, anti-vaxxers, residential school denialists, transphobia, and Carney Derangement Syndrome.

@G33kyMick The problem is the writing. Every successful Trek outing has been story-driven to develop the characters. Allowing the character’s traits to be drawn to the audience naturally. Academy decided to force the character’s into the audience without providing story for development.

Upsetting news to hear #StarTrek Starfleet Academy will not go past Season 2. The fandom's inability to embrace any new storytelling outside of nostalgia might as well be the death knell for the fandom.

Is this song the weirdest song from the 90s? I agree this was a weird one, but there were many more on that list. What is one you remember?

@unlearn16tweet @LaurenRyan12285 My only fear is the backlash that we’ll receive as a couple of Canadians discussing American politics; ironic though that most Canadians are more familiar with the US system than our own Parliament.

@cyclicallysynic @LaurenRyan12285 I think we have to talk through as much as possible. External factors are as much at play as the choices we make - I think we need to understand the way the world works rather than they way we think it should

@unlearn16tweet @LaurenRyan12285 Thank you. As I’ve mentioned before (and will again) - it’s important to ask the questions. It’s important to have the conversations. But, it’s also important to avoid getting bogged down by dragging in external factors - the message then getting lost in a “chicken or egg”.

@unlearn16tweet @LaurenRyan12285 Moreover, I’m of the opinion that OrangeMan has taken office TWICE is less about the popularity that he or his platform hold; but rather the inescapable hatred of the platforms and personalities proposed by his opposition.

@unlearn16tweet @LaurenRyan12285 We’ve discussed this. I’m game as soon as the weather breaks. And to be clear, I agree that there are significant problems in the world - and many of those problems are found in the protections that various Constitutions grant to their politicians.

@LaurenRyan12285 @unlearn16tweet I watched it a third time, to maybe focus on one of her other statements - and perhaps the enshrinement of the Constitution to holy levels? If we’re going to strike down a text because too many people believe in it - where do we draw the line? The Bible? The Qu’ran? The Torah?
