@AndrewRTDavies I dropped my folks to the airport in Cardiff yesterday. Got delayed getting in because of the halfwit protesters that you’ve whipped into a frenzy who were protesting at the hotel off the roundabout. Pathetic and achieves precisely nothing. You embarrass Wales.

Authorities have shared contradictory information about the Holiday Inn Express, Rhoose. It’s little wonder residents have little confidence in the scheme to use the Hotel as housing for resettled Afghans. In the below letter, Vale of Glamorgan Council Labour leader Lis Burnett is categorical: the Ministry of Defence identified the Hotel for use under the Afghan Resettlement Programme. Yet that is not what I was told in a briefing with MoD officials. They were quite clear that they wrote out to local authorities, and it was the Council who offered up the hotel. “They (the Council) will have had their reasons for suggesting that hotel”, were the officials’ exact words. This is deeply concerning. Many residents have raised concerns with me about pressures on public services, impacts on crime and public safety etc. Others have raised concerns that, contrary to reports, the Afghans rehoused at the Hotel may not have assisted British troops, as the different resettlement schemes have now all been merged into one. I raised this in the briefing. I asked a series of questions and requested several assurances. MoD officials told me they couldn’t answer, and so asked me to write to them. I did so. Over a fortnight on from that briefing, I’ve still not received those answers. I have chased. Residents are right to be concerned. I appear to be one of few representatives standing up for them, and asking the questions residents want answered. I make no apologies for this. It’s my job to do so. Be assured I will always put our community first.

Absolutely no customer service from @Hertz despite calling them. Ruined the end of our holiday entirely. I also have live chat details from earlier today where @Hertz confirmed our booking and that the branch was open until 2230 tonight!!

We were left high and dry at the airport for nearly two hours whilst we tried to source another hire car. Luckily for us @Enterprise and their fantastic assistant, Jo, managed to get us into a car at considerable cost to ourselves.

Absolutely appalling service today from @Hertz, who allowed a booking from Bristol airport to be placed for today, despite the branch not being open on a weekend! This was booked weeks ago, on the phone with one of their representatives who made the booking!

I’ve the Volkswagen ID.7 Tourer on test this week. It’s a big step up from the ID.4 in terms of interior space, quality and refinement. Adaptive damping has fabulously comfortable levels. Anything you want to know about this car?

I know I go on about how shit black wheels are, but how anyone can say that the bottom one looks better than the top is completely beyond me. They don’t look shit, because you can’t fucking see them. They’re not there. It’s like saying “hey man do you like my car” when it’s sitting at Kwik Fit with no wheels on. The fact that the black wheel trend seems to be dying slowly is absolutely wonderful.
