@MarshallRodriq That’s how they are at my local Walmart but many other stores aren’t built for it. My comment was more about how the workers who fulfill these orders clog up the aisles.

@dblasphemy Sound like you have some badly run stores. Around here all those spots are on one side of the parking lot, away from normal parking.

Maybe a hot take but I wouldn’t mourn if grocery stores stopped offering curbside service altogether. I don’t mind grocery shopping but I also don’t enjoy having to maneuver around the store workers with their huge carts.

@spobiker The aisles where I shop are already super narrow so it’s definitely a challenge sometimes 😅

@dblasphemy If the staff were allowed to be polite and give way to customers it would be different but they run around and force us to dodge

JUST IN: DraftKings is SHUTTING DOWN its sportsbook operation at Wrigley Field after just two years. The company says increased Illinois wagering taxes are to blame for the closure. In a statement published by the @ChicagoTribune, DraftKings said: “DraftKings has made the decision to discontinue onsite sportsbook operations at DraftKings Sportsbook at Wrigley Field following a review of our retail presence in Illinois. The venue itself will remain open, but in-person sports betting will no longer be offered at the location. While we are proud of what we have built alongside the Chicago Cubs, we are taking a more focused approach to where we invest in the state. The cost of operating in Illinois, including its high tax structure, makes it more difficult to justify continued investment in a standalone retail sportsbook.” The last day to place a wager at the sportsbook will be May 31.

Ok this is like the third of these posts I’ve seen and honestly, I have zero sympathy for anyone ordering $16 glass bottles of water, $10 puff pastry and $20 organic detergent and then whining about their grocery bill.

A banner week for the Bliss family! Last weekend Jason graduated from Illinois State and today Ian graduated summa cum laude from Bradley with his degree in Electrical Engineering. Ian will start as a fulltime engineer with CAT in July. So proud of both kids!!
