I’ll be using my old larger account for a little while. I’m having a tough time being on this account right now because of the recent posts about Olive. X keeps using the same damn image from the GFM even though I changed it, and honestly, I’m just not okay with seeing it over and over right now. I refuse to delete the updates, and all the kind responses but I can’t really look at them either. I think I need some distraction for this part of the process. So for now, I’ll be posting and staying in touch through @brokenbarpublic until I feel a little stronger again.

Why wont they just move on and join the rest of us in reality? This makes no sense and it's starting to really become apparent to folks who are waking up. It's not a contest - it's our lives and this should be approached seriously and not like it's a tribe game on social media. The science is settled, #LongCovid is a unique disease caused by covid even if some symptoms overlap with other disease.

@D_Bone I totally understand — Olive was an innocent loving creature and it’s just not right or fair that she’s gone. Though I never met her, I felt deep pain when I learned she didn’t make it. She touched so many hearts, including mine.

I have never hurt so badly in my whole life. I don't know if it's the timing, the tragic layers in this whole needless event, or that I am softer than I use to be, but my family is broken now and I'm not ashamed of being human. I want to thank everyone for their support and kind words. I'm going to keep the GFM up for a while if anyone wants to help us recover some of the loss. RIP Olive, The world was too small for you. 💔

I know you are right Trish but I truly hate this. I can handle pretty much anything in life. Even this LC crap that has destroyed my world is “manageable” emotionally - to some extent. I can and do embrace the suck when life throws its lighting bolts and I’m proud of that. But this? This is the ONE thing that breaks me. It’s like kryptonite and I feel like a little powerless child just drowning in grief and guilt and sorrow. I know I’m not unique. I’m human. But this just plain sux.

Olive loved you both, and you can feel solid that you helped your family member as best as you possibly could. I still terribly miss my favorite cat (I've had so many) I discovered in a neighbor's yard, dropped in transit by her mother, bottle-fed her - and she lived on my lap for 23 years. Grieve for Olive - and then promise yourselves to offer your love to another fur baby who will love you forever, too! They fight hard and also let you know they appreciate you, always - kind of like some special folks you 'virtually' know on this hellsite. 💙🐮

When I first got on here looking for answers, LC & ME/CFS was (and still is) in so many bios and talked about as if they are the same. So I thought, right, that's what I have. And with my LC brain damage it took me awhile to understand that this is not the case, that these two are not the same disease. Thanks to you, Alba and Dara continually explaining it to us. Thank you.

@Lizzardo77 @trishorwen After years of this, folks are waking up. It’s not easy to see for some, but eventually there will be no denial left. Only then can we make progress. Nobody wants anyone left behind - they want solutions. Thar only can come from honest science.

@Lizzardo77 @trishorwen Exactly. Migraine, epilepsy. And brain tumors - all cause headaches. I think the issue is that MECFS has been defined by PEM. That’s like defining a brain tumor by headache.

The further I travel down this pathway of illness and trying to discover what's wrong with my body, the more I see the grave mistake in conflating Long Covid with ME/CFS It has badly compromised research, and left all of us, in both groups, to fend for ourselves, and fucking rot.

And if the biology is different, we should not assume the same diagnostics or the same treatments will work for both. Long COVID should have been studied from the beginning as a potentially distinct post-infectious syndrome, rather than primarily through the lens of ME/CFS.

Today feels like make or break with Olive. Erin and I are in a torturous purgatory. We can’t really afford to push much further and we need a miracle today. We are awaiting the word from the docs. All positive thoughts and prayers are needed and welcome.
