Do we need to shift gears here? With respect, advocacy for Long COVID has not been adequate- and I’m as guilty as anyone because I’ve been at it in some capacity for over 5 years- and here we still are. By allowing the most vocal on the world’s stage to repeatedly describe Long Covid as “fatigue," and “brain fog,” we’ve encouraged the public, medical community, and governments to ignore the serious health outcomes & lethal tail of this virus. We aren't talking about being “tired” or “foggy” after a virus- I will agree that this phenomenon is “nothing new.” We are talking about strokes, heart attacks, brain damage, systemic organ failure, and even death- caused or exacerbated by what I’ve called a novel “vascular bomb.” This concept is now supported by a growing mountain of published literature. People seem completely shocked when I tell them a dear friend- with many of the same serious medical problems I still face- recently died of this condition in her 50s, after suffering in daily agony for 6 years. We’ve tragically lost many more to a virus that uniquely weaponizes our vasculature to cause widespread systemic harm. How did we get here? The history would take hours to rehash. But for example, in my opinion, the 2022 “Next Normal” campaign helped set the stage. A strategic roadmap for “living with” a virus designed to protect the status quo rather than find protocols for dramatically reducing transmission (think, clean air protocols, just as we have clean water), or preventing and curing the chronic health conditions the virus causes. It was devastating to see the very “experts” we trusted for biological truth contribute to a document that codified our surrender. If advocacy hasn't moved the needle for the average physician or public health department (looking at you, @WADeptHealth), maybe it’s because some of our loudest advocates & self appointed “experts” - many who have significant conflicts of interest- helped write the available manuals and guides (sometimes literally). For describing serious pandemic-associated medical conditions as vague, “nothing new” symptom syndromes with no validated diagnostic criteria or biomarkers. For normalizing unmitigated SARS-CoV-2 reinfections in perpetuity. And, for happily accepting decreased life expectancies, with a focus on strategies for managing smaller lives for the time we are still here. We owe patients injured during this pandemic (in any way) restoration of their previous lives. Not cartoons and jingles about symptoms, or roadmaps for managed decline. How it works: The plasma is the where the amyloid resides. Dr. McCairn's treatment separates the plasma from the rest of the blood (white blood cells, red blood cells, platelets). That's phase 1. In 2nd phase, amyloid that's housed in the plasma is filtered out. This dual-filtration plasmapheresis is available only in Asia. Standard plasmapheresis, which some long Covid/long vax patients have tried, doesn't work for long Covid or long vax. In standard plasmapheresis, your plasma is replaced w donor plasma or albumin (a vital protein made by the liver that circulates in plasma). Here's the problem w that: The Red Cross *doesn't* remove amyloid in donor blood. Plus, long vax & long Covid patients are allowed to donate blood as long as they "feel well" that day. (For that matter, ME/CFS patients are free to donate blood as well, as long as they "feel well" that day. A critical French study showed that 4.5% of ME patients contract ME from blood transfusions.) Thus, in getting *donor* plasma, you may be trading your amyloid problem for someone else's amyloid problem. And who knows what else, given the sorry state of the blood supply. You are incorrect. The virus does not stay in the lungs- the FCS explicitly EXPANDS the number of tissues whose cells the virus can access. The picture speaks for itself, which is pulled from peer-reviewed literature. Covid also directly infects lymphocytes, which nukes your immune response. The vaccine IS worse, but for different reasons.
