@RealSimpleAriel Thanks! the thing for me is that just was a 10% position and bought just 4 shares. In case there’s any opportunity to add how should I treat the trade when my avg price comes up?

5/4/2026 Daily Recap: Software taking the reins!? - $IGV software application and software infrastructure stocks are really starting to lead the pack of new merchandise. $NBIS $TWLO $ZM $RNG $NET $FIVN $DOCN $FIVN $CORZ - Semiconductors are doing a nice job resting today. They have earned it. $AMD $ARM $INTC $MRVL $TSM $AOSL $TSEM - $SNDK hits 10x ATR from the 50sma for the first time since early February. $MU also pushing up 7% today. Starting to speed up? - Space theme $UFO starting to take shape. $PL $RKLB $LUNR. $ASTS deserves a spot in the trash bin for now. - $OIH $XLE $CRAK related names continue to power higher. $DINO $FANG $MPC. A group to keep an eye on. - $XBI woke up in a big way and one of the leading ETF's today! $CELC $MIRM $AXSM $KRYS $TVTX - $BTC $ETH notable action this weekend and today. $CRCL would be the only name I'm focused on in that sector for now. - Trucking took a big hit $ODFL $XPO $SAIA - Neo clouds looking better by the day. $NBIS $CRWV $IREN $WULF $GLXY $CIFR - Keep taking things one day at a time and recognize that tons of new exposure here might not be the right move!

@RealSimpleAriel Kinda sad that selling 1 share is nearly the 25% of the position but I’m convinced is the way to compound over the long term! Thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge Ariel!

@ohiain Some weeks ago I was fearful of losing money, then I understand the beauty of managing risk and is the best thing has happened me.

What’s the biggest thing you personally struggle with when it comes to trading right now? Not the surface level answer… the real thing that’s holding you back. I’m trying to see something.

@d_jaramillo09 This market has been a constant flow of "I can't believe I missed that" then catching 4 other stocks 😂 Such a strong environment.

As a swing trader, I shouldn’t take unrealized gains at face value. Going into a momentum-style swing trade, I should already be committed to trailing moving averages with ~50% of my remaining position. Assuming the 10DSMA is the standard trail, by the time price closes below it, price has usually already retraced 2–3 APTRs from local highs—anywhere from 15–30%, depending on the stock’s volatility in most instances. That said, whatever my current unrealized gain is, I should be mentally discounting it by ~30% at all times. After reconditioning myself to view unrealized gains as a 70/30 split between me and the market, I became less emotionally attached to the big number that isn’t really mine. If you think you can outsmart moving averages and don’t cut the market in on your profits, you’ll end up selling early and greatly underperforming over the long haul. If you do the deal and share that 30% with the market, it’ll reward you handsomely.

yes. April was the most trades I have taken in a single month since 2024 with 53. 11 of those were $CAR! lol. On the calendar the trims count as trades so it looks deceiving. But when you have 12+ names open and you take a trim on a bunch of them. It looks like I did more than I actually did.

The "Next Big Thing" is feeling small, The "Alpha" has lost its glow. It’s a long, steep drop and a bitter fall, When $POET has nowhere to go but low. The chips are down, the light is dim, The "disruption" is mostly pain. We’re treading water, trying to swim, While $POET goes down the drain. Tell me again why you are bearish #AI 🤣😂

@RealSimpleAriel Usually how much time you wait for see if it was just a shakeout or instead close the trade?

@d_jaramillo09 I’m waiting for market open. But under yesterday’s lows is where my stop was. So slightly bigger losses than what I wanted. Shorts in $AMD $MRVL $AXTI are helping in a massive way

@d_jaramillo09 My sweet spot is 0.5% portfolio risk per trade. So that could be 10% size at 5% stop, or 20% size at 2.5% stop etc. In a super hot market when I'm trading well and I get an A/A+ opportunity I can get that up to 1%, but not more than that.

The optimal position size is one where you can manage the trade properly. Too much size and you're more likely to make decisions outside of your system. Too little size and the results don't impact your account.
