The Fire &Emergency Services department is continuing to organise Fire Safety Awareness-cum-Mock Drill programmes across the state as a part of the Fire Safety Week 2026 to build confidence, preparedness, and awareness in handling fire emergencies.

An ambitious project of Assam govt is making an effort to translate Assamese 'Zikir and Jari' into local tribal languages. Starting from tomorrow, under the Assam government's research center, Anundoram Borooah Institute of Language, Art and Culture, a translation workshop of Zikir and Jari will be conducted based on the report of Justice (Retd) Biplab Sarma. This is part of the work on local language and art research. Assamese Zikir and Jari will be translated into Karbi, Dimasa, Deuri, Bodo, Mising, Tiwa and Rabha languages.
