TanStack Start feels so much better to use than Next.js, it's insane.

It's been over a year since I last wrote a commit message myself. Crazy to think about how we used to work without AI

I'm seeing significantly less hype for Opus 4.7 than other Anthropic models, why is that?

Claude 4.7 Opus just refactored my entire codebase in one call. 25 tool invocations. 3,000+ new lines. 12 brand new files. It modularized everything. Broke up monoliths. Cleaned up spaghetti. None of it worked. But boy was it beautiful.

@shrawberryy I've been using Paper lately, I can't help but think I'm just faster at straight up coding what I want to design.

The fact that you can update a shadcn/ui app created in 2023 from Radix to Base UI is proof that the model works. I think, hear me out, that installing a component library that bundles styles with primitives into npm packages is a liability at this point. You're undoing the whole point of headless libraries.

@5813cf9e38904f What do you think makes it inconvenient? @tannerlinsley is very active here and I’m sure he would be open to feedback about it.

@daarkeae If your making a client only app I fully agree. But if you want rsc I think the tanstack implementation is very inconvenient

I feel like every week there are thousands of posts about Claude getting dumber but not many posts about how bad Anthropic is as a company

@semdzh I love Svelte, used to use it a lot before Svelte 5 with runes launched, didn't look much into it after the runes update, will definitely give it a go!

@daarkeae TanStack Start is amazing. But try SvelteKit, you gonna love the DX.

TanStack Start as a full meta-framework is relatively new (it only hit release candidate in late 2025), so you won’t find a long list of big enterprise apps built on it yet. That said, the individual libraries underneath it (Router, Query, Table) are battle-tested at massive scale: Sentry, Bluesky and other platforms use them in production

At this point Codex is faster, better, and more thorough than if I wrote code by hand.
