Canadians are seriously getting SCREWED at the pumps. Over $2 a litre today where I’m at. Way cheaper in the United States, like most things 👀
I hope Canadians realize how badly they’re getting screwed financially 🇨🇦
Obama donated NONE of his salary. Michelle had a staff of 23.
Trump donates ALL of his salary. Melania has a staff of 4. In life there are givers and there are takers.
We could hammer out a solution to the entire Canada-U.S. trade dispute in 10 days, says the Prime Minister who has decided not to go to the bargaining table for 5 months.
@WexitPepe@CanadianPM Yes, send AI to renovate my laundry room. I can't get anyone to do it in time at a decent price due to the shortage of these workers.
Wexit, how does it work? Do I just take my phone, put it on the floor and open chat GPT to get the reno done.
Team Canada Strong: Spend billions training 100,000 new tradespeople... right before AI & robots replace them all. 😂
Congrats, Ottawa — you're building the world's most overqualified robot maintenance crew!
Want Canada strong? Train them to build & program the robots instead of competing with them.
Otherwise it's just expensive temp work for the bot era.
Who else sees the plot twist coming? 👇
Introducing Team Canada Strong: a bold plan to recruit, train, and hire 80,000 to 100,000 skilled trades workers. This new flagship measure will transform the skilled-trades and strengthen Canada’s future workforce, building Canada strong for all. Details: pm.gc.ca/en/news/news-r…
Mark Carney is still taxing Canadians every time they fill up.
Let's give Canadians the full relief, from all gas taxes, for the entire year: conservative.ca/cpc/zero-tax-o…
The weather is getting warmer, which means Canadians are getting excited for their summer plans.
If you’re looking for your next adventure — the Canada Strong Pass comes back this June, with free Parks Canada admission and more discounted experiences across the country.
Mark Carney says trade with the U.S. is a weakness. He says there's a rupture between our countries.
Four days later, he says Canada and U.S. are “stronger together.”
He can’t keep his story straight. How can he negotiate our interests?
@FoxNews The US screwed up the strait and they need to fix it. They should have formed a coalition and agreement with its allies before attacking. We all want a nuke free Iran and there would have been alot of support for a smart approach to the situation. You broke it, you fix it.
BREAKING: Secretary of War Pete Hegseth calls out America's allies: "The time for free riding is over."
"America and the free world deserve allies who are capable, who are loyal, and who understand that being an ally is not a one way street."
"We barely use the Strait of Hormuz as a country. Our energy doesn't flow through there, and we have plenty of energy."
"We are not counting on Europe, but they need the Strait of Hormuz much more than we do, and might want to start doing less talking and having less fancy conferences in Europe and getting a boat."
So Canada is STILL the ONLY G7 country that hasn’t concluded a deal with the US. France, Germany, Italy (via EU), Japan, and the UK have all secured agreements or frameworks with the Trump administration to address or reduce the broad “reciprocal” tariffs (and related Section 232/301 measures) imposed starting in 2025.
And here the CBC is misleading Canadians on Canada-US trade. The public deserves accuracy, not false narratives that distract.
“In 2024, Canadian exports to the US amounted to $419 billion USD, our next biggest market was China at $21 billion USD. We can’t pivot away from that kind of market overnight; we need to stop playing games, get to the table and get a deal.” - @brianlilleytorontosun.com/opinion/column…
The American trade talks are going to fail.
The Americans are going to unilaterally pull out of USMCA. (Yes, they can do that)
Canada is in deep, deep trouble.
They don’t realize what is coming.
The saddest, most pathetic part is that it has all been 100% self inflicted.
@DABailey62@dacr1963@sarobertsonca You know what, they work very few days for their pay so they can go ahead and actually work regular hours like the rest of Canadians and discuss hose confidential matters in an office instead of a plane.
@myabradshaw78 There is no verified evidence that Mark Carney got Air Canada to suspend flights.
There is no public record, no gov. announcement, and no credible reporting showing that Carney instructed Air Canada to suspend US flights or Air Canada suspended flights because of fuel shortages.
Mark Carney makes no sense. Carney gets Air Canada to suspend flights between Canada and US because of fuel but turns around and states Canada is increasing flights to China. Where is Carney’s logic??
@sarobertsonca Well that would be perfect plus it could land in all the small runways in Texas. I wonder what the modern day equivalent is to this aircraft? Is this commonly used by leaders of large economies?
@sarobertsonca Ontario is a sufficiently large enough by size and economy to justify a plane for the province. We have many remote areas and underserved airports. It important that our ministers and other officials travel throughout the province and country as needed.
Imagine having a political leader seriously suggesting we abandon trade with the largest economy in the world--our closest neighbour, lowest-cost partner, and biggest customer.
Canada sends ~75% of its exports to the U.S.
For Alberta it's closer to ~85–90%.
That’s not a minor relationship you can “pivot” away from overnight--it’s the backbone of our economy.
You don’t strengthen a country by picking fights with your primary customer. You don’t create jobs by making it harder to sell what we produce.
Albertans understand this. We rely on access to U.S. markets, and we have no interest in reckless strategies that gamble with our livelihoods.
Strong countries don’t act out of impulse. They act in their economic self-interest. That’s what an independent Alberta will do. Vote yes on Oct. 19. #AlbertaIndependence
@Derek_Love_@MarkJCarney@LucFrieden Yes, we have lots they can use. The trucks might be too big for there streets but perhaps the Toyota plant in Woodstock can make smaller ones.
@MarkJCarney@LucFrieden Hopefully Luxembourg will purchase Ontario made cars and light trucks, BC's softwood lumber and aluminum and aerospace products from Quebec in unimaginable quantities 🤞
Canada and Luxembourg have a growing bilateral partnership across trade, commerce, technology, and defence.
Prime Minister @LucFrieden and I spoke today about deepening our partnership in areas like satellite communications and establishing the Defence, Security, and Resilience Bank.
