Kripke was just desperate to humiliate the one character everyone liked and the only reason anyone watched the show.
At a certain point he snapped and decided to make him a satire of Trump to punish the audience; both for liking Homelander and voting Trump, which he saw as an analogue for cheering on the villain.

I think a lot of people need to come to terms with the reality that this show was deliberately driven into the ground because it became too popular with the "wrong types" of people in the eyes of the show runners.

Let me be clear: I do not condone this act of violence. Whoever knew about this or assisted should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
That said, the Left has politicized this tragedy before the bodies were even cold. They are using tragedy to push a lie, and we must acknowledge the tragedy while still speaking the truth.
