One technique im working on for longer narratives is balancing visuals and gameplay. At point what do added graphics stop adding value to the video? I think we found a nice balance in the Apex Bot to Pro video with using the Valk model selectively. This is one of those instances

looking back at my first 2 years editing, i made a lot of mistakes that kept me stuck longer than i needed to be - i said yes to every project even when something felt off - i thought being busy meant i was doing well - i charged based on what i thought clients would pay, not what the work was worth - i copied whatever style was trending instead of developing my own - i stayed available 24/7 thinking it made me more professional - i took every revision without pushing back because i was scared of losing the client - i measured progress by followers and likes instead of the quality of work i was producing - i consumed endless tutorials instead of just editing more and trusting my own eye - i treated rest as something i had to earn instead of something that made my work better none of these felt like mistakes at the time they all felt like hustle, like paying dues, like what u were supposed to do but they were just patterns that kept me running in circles

Why finding a good video editor is such a hard task? Last week I paid for 6 guys to do a video. 4 of them delivered late, and one didn't deliver at all. Out of the 6 editors 5 didn't know what hook variations are. At the end, they had no idea what organic video is, bunch of flashy transitions, bad caption placement + not readable and out of safe-zone. Broll selection is mind blowing and music is too loud compared to VO. etc... It's insane

major cheat code in life: be the one who reaches out. text first. call first. plan first. initialize first. most people wait to be chosen. be the chooser. connection requires initiative. friendship requires effort. love requires action. stop waiting to be picked. start picking. initiative is attractive.

These animations aren't that impressive But being an editor doesn't mean that you create overly complex animations all the time It would be kind of stupid if you ask me The client doesn't always need crazy effects and often it might even negatively affect the video Of course it depends on the situation but it reduces trust, confuses potential clients, and distracts the viewer from what the creator is trying to say Plus it takes more time Sure, perhaps they're needed if you're creating a video for a kids' channel, preview for a SaaS company, or a guru video that is targeting people who are regularly dopamine maxxing But if you're trying to reach a more mature audience in other niches, it might not fit Anyways, here's something I did some time back for a shooting range:
