@mark_larah @TheWorstFounder Consensus among many I’ve discussed this with is to avoid direct subgraph calls in favor of operations that enter graph through router. Mixed graph entry points break the abstraction the graph strives so hard to create. But it’s tempting for sure …

@TheWorstFounder yeah you'd have to do the usual expand/contract migration strategy -- but the same is true of traditional swaggerified rest endpoints / grpc (which is what you'd use instead)

Are any folks out there using GraphQL for service-to-service communication? It kinda starts to make sense if you already had a public facing GQL server and resolvers in federated services with normalized auth claims...
