@ndcar That’s been the biggest omission on the schedule for years.
English

@PPistone Why in the world would David Malukas have the slightest interest in that?
English

@500Indy1911 @golic_2004 It’s the stories beneath the surface that make things like this come alive. And yes, Langhorn was a cruel place.
English

My Grandpa stopped going in 1955 when his hero Bill Vukovich died on the backstretch while leading.
My dad kept going and his childhood hero won the Indy 500 in 1958.
Jimmy Bryan died in 1960 at the dumbest track ever made.
My dad was 11 when his hero died.
My dad, James Friedrich, was known as Jimmy for the rest of his life.
When I was born in 1981, my dad wanted to name me, his 2nd son (first after his dad), after his favorite racer and hero as a kid.
So my name is Bryan!!
Spell it right!

For all those wondering about how to find our coverage in the US this year, Bernie has the right strategy for you :))
Bernie Collins@bernie_collins1
Lots of people asking how to get our coverage via Apple TV in US. Hopefully this helps!

71 days til 110th Indianapolis 500 Mile Race @IMS #IsItMayYet 1971 - Before and after photos of the @Dodge Challenger Pace Car.... IYKYK ..... #IndyCar @CarterMascola @originalndcar @aracething @500Indy1911 @Chad__15

English

@ndcar @Chad__15 @IMS @Dodge @CarterMascola @originalndcar @aracething @500Indy1911 The fact that I can still remember poor Eldon Palmer‘s name about 60 years later says it all.

The Board Tracks were incredible, yet dangerous.
Science girl@sciencegirl
In the 1920s, cars reached 120 mph on the steep wooden banks of the Altoona Speedway, a track that claimed many lives including three Indianapolis 500 winners.

Dad turned 89 years-old today —70 years ago he was a 19 year-old centerfielder for the Detroit Tigers…
Here he is with his three great grandkids.

@pacificcoast2 @NickKnox8 @SHUNCK @MarioAndretti I think VPJ completely pulled the rug out from under his F1 ride. That led Mario to Lotus. And I’d say that worked out pretty well.
English

@NickKnox8 @SHUNCK @MarioAndretti Just wonder if Mario ever had any regrets about leaving VPJ then, as the Parnelli-Cosworth arrived in '76, and Big Al and Danny Ongais had some really great runs in that car from '76-'79.
English

@Thomsen419 @tgvanhorne Oh that’s right - Stewart broke his wrist?
English

@dan_eversole @tgvanhorne Well not exactly. The original lineup was supposed to be Clark, Graham Hill and Jackie Stewart. Stewart got injured and had to be withdrawn and of course tragically Jim was fatally injured. Spence was a very late addition.
English

Practice or marketing shot. Jimmy was killed in Germany prior to the 1968 500.

English

@Thomsen419 @tgvanhorne So sad to think about this. They had Clark and Mike Spence lined up to go along with Graham Hill. Clark died in April and Spence was killed early in the month of May.
English

@tgvanhorne They were there at IMS with the Lotus 56 and the Paxton Silent Sam in March a few days before Jim passed away.
English

@Oilerfan9911 @JasonGregor @oilersjayscan I think if you watched a couple of Blues games and saw the way that defense plays in front of him you might reconsider. It’s a train wreck. He would benefit from a change of scenery.
English

@JasonGregor @oilersjayscan Honestly, the chance of Binnington being a disaster is too high. Sure, he’s great in international tournaments, but he can’t play in the NHL any more.
English

@Ken_Rosenthal To be fair, @jmjones reported last night they were working on a deal.
English

@AOC Actually, I think after your recent performance in Munich, quite a few people have woken up. Finally.
English

We exposed the global far-right’s playbook at Munich, and how to stop them.
Right on cue, Rubio beelined from his revisionist MAGA speech at MSC to boost Orbán in Hungary’s elections.
We must wake up before it’s too late. A working class politics can defeat authoritarianism.
Sam Stein@samstein
Marco Rubio endorsed Viktor Orban this morning. Here's a 2019 letter signed by Marco Rubio to Donald Trump sharply criticizing Orban and "Hungary's downward democratic trajectory" foreign.senate.gov/imo/media/doc/…

@CalifaChico @TheBishF1 Peterson was a fine driver and by all accounts, a great guy. But Andretti was brilliant and a deserving champion.
English

@TheBishF1 Chapman wanted Mario to win, because Ronnie had left to Tyrrell before
English

The great Ronnie Peterson was born #OnThisDay in ’44. Remember him this way: sideways, in a Lotus #F1 car, & in total control. This pic shows him at his home circuit, Anderstorp, in ’78, in the Lotus 79 that team-mate Mario Andretti drove on rails. SuperSwede, not so much...
