Cascade Camp 2026 approaches! Last year I didn't know what to expect because I hadn't been before. I'm so glad I went. It's hard to explain how hanging out with internet friends out in nature for a few days can be so transformative.

We are doing Cascade.Camp for the third year. Camp continues to grow and change, it remains a great place to come and bootstrap community but now we have a few years of organizer social fabric and local community weaving experience too. We need 20 people to buy tickets for camp to happen! Please leave a quality comment and repost for algorithmic reach. If you've been to camp once, I hope you consider coming again. If you've never been but you can still feel the vibes of the original tpot scene you will have a place here.

it's actually really frustrating sometimes when i can't draw things in a way where every side is visible simultaneously. feels like we live in a video game with a weird mechanic that forces the visual field to only show one perspective at a time (or one time at a perspective).

@TVachaW i don't know if i'll ever get a direct rendition, but i sometimes catch glimpses of the vibe here and there.

@danallison Have you considered creating in other mediums when you hit this dimensional wall in drawing?

@danallison @TVachaW These are like if the guy having a vision of Indra's Net in an Alex Grey painting felt indifferent about it

I don’t really have any pre-birth memories except for this very faint sense of being a unified hypersphere that sort of feels like this animation, but there’s no movement and no perspective. It’s all just simultaneous and intrinsically visible and inclusive of everything, including itself and everything outside of itself. And now somehow I find myself here as a human being living on planet Earth in 2026 writing a tweet about the hypersphere.

@nosilverv @danallison No perspective because you're not referencing a visual phenomenon. Visual always has an implied perspective, unlike somatic sensations.

@meekaale totally. whose idea was this? i mean don't get me wrong, it's an interesting game mechanic. but it sorta gets old after a while. there should be like a toggle or something in game settings that let's you turn it off.

This video got me thinking about marketing and what happens when the thing being marketed is changed by how it’s marketed. There’s a feedback loop where the people attending Cascade Camp choose to attend based on who else they expect will attend and whether or not they want to hang out with those people, which means marketing Cascade Camp to more people has to account for how that marketing will affect the perception of what categories of people are likely to attend Cascade Camp, which will affect who actually attends. The marketing or lack thereof is signaling the selection criteria by which attendees self-select into the group, thereby shaping the perceived selection criteria that informs the actual selection criteria. “Am I the kind of person who would want to go to an event that appeals to the kinds of people who would want to go to this event?” If you’ve read this entire tweet, then the answer is almost certainly yes and you should buy your tickets now cascade.camp

Thank you @wendell_britt and @SarahAMcManus for helping expose the multifaceted unfolding that is cascade camp. "Why is marketing dope things hard? (Come to Cascade Camp 2026)" youtu.be/H7wmk07uf5M?is…
