GODDAMNIT! You can spot an issue with the bloom/glow texture on the light at 2:50, where half of the triangle strip is missing! Quick, someone open a ticket before the haters notice! ...but otherwise she's looking damn fine with dat trademark Sega Dreamcast image output quality!

WHAT IN THE ACTUAL!? That "very special" new Half-Life compatible engine, Xash3D, which @craf7y24 just BARELY got ported to the Sega Dreamcast the other day? ...Well here's a direct hardware capture of it now bringing us back online with COUNTER STRIKE 1.6 running on the DC! In addition to fixing the obvious polygon jittering towards the camera's near Z-plane (which, seriously, we have no clue about yet, lmfao), he's also hoping to become the first engine to support downloading custom maps and assets from remote servers and storing them onto the DC with either the SD card or the IDE/SATA hard drive mod! The Dreamcast community is blowing up right now, and we want to help raise awareness that we're doing these cross-overs, which I think is a beautiful thing.

Whelp, here it is! Digital Foundry's big coverage of our Grand Theft Auto 3 port to the Sega Dreamcast! We knew it was coming, and we knew that not one pixel would escape the expert eye of @dark1x. ...and I think he did a fantastic job with the video and absolutely did the team, the project, the Dreamcast, (and even the PS2, lolol) justice in it! Not only that, but his coverage has been incredibly helpful to us as developers, for showing us where we should be focusing our efforts, how far we are from PS2 parity, and even showing us some subtle graphical issues and renderer inaccuracies we didn't even know we had! Considering this is our very first alpha release, with the vast majority of our time being spent on implementing features and effects, rather than micro-optimizing, I am actually quite happy with the state of the project. A mere few months ago, the most widely held position within the gaming community and even with people following us, was that there was in no way in hell the Sega Dreamcast could run GTA3. By far, the vast majority of the game is now playable on the DC, minus a few bugs which are getting reported in random missions here and there. There is also no feature we had to completely drop or outright failed to even attempt on the DC. Yes, as a team, we will be focusing more on performance going forward! Thank you, Digital Foundry, and everyone else who has taken the time to cover this project. It has been an absolute honor to have been worthy of your time and attention with a Sega Dreamcast port in the year 2025. The whole experience has been truly unreal!
