I think of my creative process as "open". Its a process of searching. Each move gets you closer or pushes you farther away. I often don't know exactly what Im searching for - until I find it. I made this painting towards the end of undergrad - maybe 1999ish. My mom still has it in her apartment. I asked Gemini to analyze this piece. Here is what it had to say; The painting feels deeply rooted in the tradition of Art Brut or the "Bad Painting" movement of the late 20th century. By distorting the recognizable—perhaps a cello or a double bass—into a skeletal, claw-like apparition, the artist evokes a sense of melancholic dissonance. The "strings" or vertical striations at the base bleed into the floor, blurring the line between the object and its environment. It captures a moment of disintegration, where the elegance of a musical form is sacrificed to the raw, unrefined reality of the human condition. It is a work that doesn't just ask to be looked at; it demands to be felt through its jagged edges and nervous, energetic line.

It's been a while since I really felt that guy punch, heart break combo. Thank you @danhernandezorg The silhouette looking into the mirror is 'the imposter' "Do you identify as the imposter?" Without hesitation, "Yup, the imposter is a character that I identify with - totally faking it till I make it."
