It’s 39 degrees on April 9th and I just watched a 9 year old throw 83 pitches so his dad can feel like a travel baseball coach.

@CoachSwit I'm sure travel ball increases arm injuries, but I also think people really underestimate how much good competition helps development at younger ages. It's not for everyone, but I think it's great for the more talented players. Just need to be smarter with limiting pitching loads

What if nobody played travel ball until after Little League at 13? Less burnout? Fewer arm injuries? Or does it slow development? Not for everyone—but maybe it works for some. Thinking outside the box. What do you think? I think I know the answer for most.

@MLSMoves 100%. I have a 12 year old son, who is all in on soccer. The plan was to go to wherever the US was playing and see a game in person. Now, I'd have to sell my truck to afford it.

When the 2026 World Cup was announced for the United States back in 2018, I told myself there was no way I’d miss it. I was going to be there in person, experiencing a World Cup on home soil and I know so many of you felt the exact same way. Fast forward to now, and the ticket prices are completely astronomical. Outrageously unaffordable. What was supposed to be the dream of a lifetime has been priced out of reach for regular fans like me. I’m going to miss watching my country host the biggest event in sports… something I may never get to experience again in my lifetime. Yes, they’re going to make money off this massive event on U.S. soil. But the greed has gone too far. It’s ruining the beautiful game and turning it into something only the wealthy can enjoy. A World Cup should be for everyone not just those who can drop thousands without blinking. This is an absolute shame.

Genuine question. Why does it always "take time for pump prices to drop", yet the increases never seem to have the same delay?

@stanger_05 @chadmask_msu Gas stations hold the line far longer than they should. You just aren’t aware of it. There were plenty of times during the last month that a huge percentage of stations were selling at cost to avoid putting the increases to the street.

@chadmask_msu They will tell us that they have to sell the gas at the higher price that is still in their tanks first. But they never seem to have to sell the lower cost fuel in their tanks first prior to skyrocketing the prices overnight

$71 dollars a barrel? Gas stations better be dropping those prices as fast as they raised them.

@chadmask_msu You want to know what really goes on? I own a gas station, and believe me when I tell you, the lower the price the better we do. These prices have led to my worst 6-8 weeks since COVID

They claim it was a league issue. Pre-ECNL. Our club says they were told u12 would move to 11v11 in the spring. But then it never materialized. Meanwhile our club put 18 kids on the roster, so now it’s 30 minutes of even playing time for every kid. No attempt by the club to address the situation either. In the spring we had 13 for 9s.

18 kids on a 9v9 roster is a revenue decision, not a development one. That's two full teams worth of dues for one team's worth of field time. The clubs that actually care about player growth cap their rosters at 12-13 for 9v9 so every kid gets real minutes, not a participation ribbon.

Landon Donovan called U.S. youth soccer "a disaster." He's being polite. A U12 family drops $4,000/year on club fees. In return, their kid sits the bench for 30 minutes because the coach "needs to win" a pool play game in March. Development doesn't happen watching from the sideline. It happens with the ball at your feet, making mistakes no one remembers by May. #YouthSoccer

Here's what that lake house actually cost: $31,200/year mortgage $14,400/year property taxes and insurance $8,700/year maintenance and repairs $6,200/year utilities $4,100/year HOA Total: $64,600 a year. They could have rented premium lake houses across the country every single summer for $12,000. And kept the additional compounding in their portfolio with far less problems to deal with. They were tired of the headaches. They just listed it. "We thought it would bring the family together." The family came twice. Real estate feels like an asset BUT it can turn into an expensive hobby with a deed.
