Unpopular take: Philanthropy has no reason to support clean firm. Fervo, nuclear startups - plenty of businesses want to provide clean firm, and there are plenty of willing buyers at high prices. Lots of venture funded activity. Where's the market and policy failure?

It feels like energy twitter discourse is in a perpetual doom loop of BTM meter vs front-of-meter data center arguments when the answer is obviously there will be of course be a good amount of BTM for speed-to-power and resiliency but the long-term goal is a grid connection

Key insight from @daniel_wolf1 : the options can work together. You can get a more granular energy market (C) with state-overseen economic hedging (A). You can also find more and more interruptible loads of different flavors working with retail regulators (B).

What’s clear is that PJM is under intense pressure – and seemingly more than ever, the grid operator is deferring to governors and other elected officials on what the solution set should be.

I also think that Path C, which makes me nervous, could only work in combination with Path A.
