I'm excited to announce that we're joining OpenAI’s Codex team! When we started out, Xcode had no AI. Building a "Cursor for Xcode" sounded crazy, but we managed to do it anyway. And, over time, we built the best coding agent for iOS & MacOS apps. I'm extremely proud of what we accomplished with @alexcodes_ai. Seeing people build software with our work was surreal. It is an honor to continue that work at a much bigger scale at OpenAI, along with the incredibly talented Codex team. Our mission is to help people create, and today that is more possible than ever. Thank you all -- our day 1 beta users, our customers, our amazing investors, and the entire Apple Dev community for helping us Make Something Wonderful ❤️ (P.S. Check out Codex CLI!) Daniel

To celebrate the launch of the Codex app, we doubled all rate limits for paid plans for 2 months! And added access for free/go.

We’re excited to launch the Codex app, a command center for building with agents. It gives you a focused space to manage multiple agents at once, run work in parallel, and collaborate with agents over long-running tasks. openai.com/codex

@_sholtodouglas @jekbradbury @GoogleDeepMind @andy_l_jones @OpenAI @kevin_wang3290 A word on comp: I know folks who become quants to make money but 5 years later ask what they're doing with their life. We're at a special time in history. In AI research, you can help positively guide the most important tech of our time *and* get paid well x.com/polynoamial/st…

I worked in quant trading for a year after undergrad, but didn't want my lifetime contribution to humanity to be making equity markets marginally more efficient. Taking a paycut to pursue AI research was my best life decision. Today, you don't even need to take a paycut to do it.

We are working with OpenCode to allow Codex users to use their Codex subscriptions and usage limits in OpenCode directly. Also exploring how to support other awesome actors in the space.
Tibo@thsottiaux

With the Claude Code shutdown. I am proud that we build Codex in the open with our OSS repo and we are 100% invested in supporting a flourishing ecosystem of agentic coding tools out there. You can already build on top of github.com/openai/codex/t… directly, which includes ChatGPT login and same usage as you get in codex. Reach out if you are a builder!

hey codex team, is it possible to `force push` a query without losing the context of the last 20 mins? I know you can queue up the next query... Maybe this is a feature request... so when codex is doing its thing gathering context for 20 mins and i figure out where the bug is, I wish i could force push my next query without losing all of the context its gathered over the last X mins and it catches on to what i am seeing continues down the path of fixing the issue with the new relevant + old context @thsottiaux @DanielEdrisian @embirico

@dotey Great question. Would you like there to be a keyboard shortcut to save custom prompts? e.g. You type something into the chat, then hit "ctrl+S" and it saves as a custom prompt. (Currently you have to add a .md file to ~/.codex/prompts/)

I was searching for this feature in both CC and Codex. It would be amazing to have one new menu element /Prompts where one can define such. But if objective is to keep menu least amount of items, a /prompts to create/edit prompts to certain keybindings and a lookup table easily called to review logged prompts would be really nice. I like the logging of anything in md. Amazing work with the model, using codex as daily driver. You guys nailed it.
