I got blocked by @thelinqapp CEO after pointing out they COPIED our product, launch post, and video idea. They claimed they launched the world’s 1st mini app API today. @PhotonHQ shipped ours 3 weeks ago, and got 1.5M views. This hurts. I can tell you how exactly our viral post was made. Our team stayed up for a whole week. @ryanzhuuuu wrote the video script, @danieltian tested the mini game 100 times. I wrote the draft of the post, and the team debated every part of it. We want it to be PERFECT. We wanted to bring fun, interactive game experiences into iMessage mini apps. And we treat this launch as our kid. Linq copied EVERYTHING. With very similar product framing, a similar launch post, and even the mini game idea that look almost 1:1. Hi Elliott — you raised a Series A, I thought your engineering and marketing team could do better than this. Builders deserve credit for what they create. Please respect the work. As @PhotonHQ, a real builder, we will keep shipping better features, we want to bring agents to millions of people.

Last time I visited the Photon office, I was genuinely moved by the Photon team. It was a Friday night. There were many founders visiting the office, chatting, drinking, and hanging out. But the Photon team stayed completely focused. They were glued to their screens, solving user problems they met that night. A team like this will win. Copycats may copy the surface, but if they don’t start from users and first principles, they can never copy Photon’s soul. Supporting Photon all the way!
