@philip_schwarz @Krever01 Unfortunately I’m unable to as the GitHub says that public proof must be available and our source code is private and we don’t have any published documents about our internal tech stack

What you don’t realize is that boomers grew up without “everything”. We didn’t have birthday parties with pro photographers and a bouncy house; we had a homemade cake and we got to play with the water hose. We didn’t have destination weddings with 13 of our closest friends as bridesmaids. We had three or four and served refreshments in the church hall or if we were lucky, the country club. We didn’t have late model cars in high school. Our dad’s found us clunkers and kept them running for us. We didn’t have remotes and smart phones that satisfied our every whim or curiosity at a moment’s notice. We got up and changed the channel, checked out books from the library or maybe used the Encyclopedia Britannica for homework. We had months and sometimes years when mom and dad made it clear that money was tight and so we wore hand-me-downs or went without. We understand how to budget, use a coupon and actually do without. That doesn’t scare us at all. So we’re not worried about the economy right now. We know it will adjust soon and probably be much stronger for the changes being made. You know what we’re worried about? Our grandchildren being convinced their gender is wrong and schools and medical establishments keeping that information from their parents while they’re given permanent, life-altering medical treatments. We’re worried that the political correctness you forced on us is now just a permission slip for mental illness and delusion. We’re worried that the hard fought peace between races that we experienced and knew was right, is now being destroyed by media narratives and political hacks like Jasmine Crockett. We’re worried that the social security we’ve been paying into for DECADES is being misused and we’re pissed that public servants like Nancy Pelosi and her ilk has used her position to become a freaking multi-millionaire. We’re worried that the gems of our country—like San Francisco and hell, the whole state of California—have been so comprised by a woke mindset that they’re ruined forever. We’re worried that good, hard working men are so vilified and that divorce is easy and celebrated, that the family unit will just fall by the wayside. We’re worried that we’re the only ones left who can see how much has been lost—and it has nothing to do with the stock market.

Trump: When you take away that artificial line that looks like it was done with a ruler— and that’s what it was. Some guy sat there years ago and they said RAH. When you take away that and you look at that beautiful formation of Canada and the United States… And then if you add Greenland.. that’s pretty good

@Theo_Griffiths @MrMark_James The difference is there are empty seats. If you don’t want to be charged for using first class, don’t sit in the bit that is clearly marked first class. Just because they sometimes let people use it doesn’t mean they have to always let you use it.

@MrMark_James @TLRailUK Then what’s the difference between the front first class which is *sometimes* in use, and the back one, where it’s allowed apparently

@Web_Wise_Dan Me too! Last time I sold they took 14% commission, really made me think twice about listing on eBay. I don’t mind paying them something but that was crazy! Going to get back on the site and give it a go again…

From today, it is now FREE to sell on ebay. No more "final value fees" for private sellers. As someone who has been using the platform since it began, this is a gamechanger. The fees were really putting me off. Now I will become a selling machine! 🔥

🥇 Personal note - I am slightly in awe at the quality of these young adults - this was tough hiking with beautiful moments, and they damn well proved to themselves they could do it. Stars😁. So here's the Milky Way over the first night's camp, and the Plough over the second😁

Has anyone looked into whether large wind turbines could be integrated into (I.e. the turbines themselves be on top of) skyscrapers? Many advantages, including crucially: > no aesthetic downside (and potential aesthetic upsides) > potentially cheap to install (because requires no extra land, and can be integrated into the strength of buildings; the skyscraper would just need to have one corner (or a central column) constituted by the core of the turbine tower) > the electricity would be generated exactly where it is needed at scale (and with no power losses nor NIMBY risks). Serious question. Asking for a species in trouble.

What would Jesus do if he owned 60,000 football pitches worth of land? Would he use it for profit or would he rewild it? That's the dilemma currently faced by the Church of England’s historic investment arm, the Church Commissioners Find out about our campaign & petition ..

@BohdsTheLynx @CurioCap @ireland1921 It’s a lot easier to make these kind of mistakes on Windows than on Linux, and a lot easier to set the guard rails up on Linux to help prevent it. Friends don’t let friends choose Microsoft.

@CurioCap @ireland1921 No, dude- everyone knows that it's impossible to do anything that could have negative consequences when you're on Linux. Backdoors? No such thing. SSH hijacking? Nuh-uh. Only Microsoft issues.

Someone, somewhere, is the person who pressed go on that software update. And right now they know exactly what they did and what it has done. And as someone who knows that sinking feeling when you realise you’ve screwed up at work, I cannot imagine the state of them right now.

@_JamesWard Writing sufficient tests to cover all necessary scenarios is often much more work than writing working code. Also it sounds really dull, defining the interface and then writing a bunch of tests - going to take all the remaining fun out of our jobs!

If the AI can write the code iteratively until it passes my tests, why do I need the actual code? If it has bugs, write better tests. Future compilers will just have this all integrated. Humans will have to get good at writing the tests which convey the business and operating requirements.

@engineers_feed Replaceable keyboard, the apple one is pretty good but it’s frustrating at times and some of the android options were very nice. Also a user repairable option, although there are very few androids that offer that.
