St. Louis temporarily replaced "bus stop" signs with "bus start" signs to improve the perception of transit and induce ridership. It didn't work. In hindsight it was a dumb idea. However, it was cheap to test out and I'm glad someone tried and found out.

Czasy, kiedy JACKOWO było ostoją polskości nie tylko w Chicago, ale i w Stanach Zjednoczonych odchodzą do przeszłości. Okres świetności przeżywało w latach 80 i 90 - tych XX w., kiedy przybywały tutaj największe fale emigracyjne. Nazwa "Jackowo" wywodzi się od Bazyliki św. Jacka, która była i jest nadal centrum życia religijnego i kulturalnego Polonii w Chicago.
