I'm excited for this- the 32nd Ward is ground zero for aldermanic prerogative abuse contributing to the city's housing shortage, and has so much potential. I hope to see everyone there!

@HopfJames This one is def worth keeping an eye on. Great shipbuilders, and one of few functional nuclear supply chains

In addition to nuclear powered ships, Korea intends to develop floating nuclear plants as well. Article link in reply. Floating nuclear plants have the following merits: "Compared with large land-based nuclear plants, they offer greater flexibility in siting and can supply power to remote islands or offshore industrial sites." Russia currently dominates the floaring nuclear plant market. China and the US, and now Korea as well, are trying to get in the game.

Breaking: Brookfield and The Nuclear Company teaming up to deliver GW-scale nuclear Proud to announcing a joint venture between The Nuclear Company and Brookfield to deliver Westinghouse reactors, including to manage the completion of AP1000s in South Carolina. From the day I discovered nuclear energy my goal has been to build as much of it as possible for the world. Today, with my team at @thenuclearco, we're taking a huge step towards that. It's been an honor to work as Chief of Staff for proven builder-CEO @JonathanWebbKY alongside our legendary Chief Nuclear Officer @TheNuclearJoe as we build the team and technology that can finally fix the nuclear plant deployment problem in the West. I've been an advocate for nuclear energy long enough to see the revolution in public appreciation for this wondrous technology, but just being popular isn't enough. We have to be able to build on-time, on-budget, with proven designs that are repeated over and over with an experienced and disciplined project management team using the best emerging tech. That is precisely what we're doing at The Nuclear Company. I'll be sharing more going forward as we deliver on the awesome potential unlocked by today's announcement.

At DoorDash Labs, we're building a ground up-vehicle for autonomous deliveries, developing a logistics system using the latest tools in AI and deep learning. These are some of the people making sure Dot is ready for the road.

@cornoisseur I feel like it should have been simply a one directional roundabout but keep the traffic lights for pedestrians + dedicated bike lanes

@AnthonyJQuezada I’m not giving it enough credit – the new plaza is a welcome upgrade. Need so many more everywhere in the city! This slip lane is bad practice though. Those crossing distances require pedestrians to have courage.
Jeremy Glover@JGrantGlover

Now that the Logan Square construction has begun in earnest, I've been studying the design again. One of the oddest choices they made was to expand the existing traffic island at Kedzie/Logan, instead of getting rid of it. Left is their design. Right is how I would rework it.

@cornoisseur I respectfully disagree, my friend. This is a very safe design for everyone, ESPECIALLY for pedestrians. I’d be happy to grab coffee with you and walk through the area sometime :)

@cornoisseur I think a normal roundabout woulda been more hectic and way less pedestrian and bike friendly given it'd be 3 lanes.

@PaulSkallas @AJManaseer The Good Roads Movement was created because of cyclists. Motorists should be grateful for the paved roads that we fought for. Bicycles are Lindy.

@AJManaseer It's hard to hate bike lanes when the CTA is in such bad shape. It's much more rational for an individual to ride a bike somewhere than to take a bus or train.

One thing I was shocked to learn about prominent bike lane advocacy groups is that they are against helmet mandates. Chicago, unlike most cities, doesn’t even require children to wear helmets. This is despite overwhelming evidence that helmets dramatically save lives and prevent serious injury. Why are they against helmet mandates? Because this lowers ridership. Which lowers funding and political support. Think about that. They are willing to let more people suffer from preventable death or traumatic injuries in order to maintain political influence. This is how you know the bike lane debate is not about public safety.

“If driving is made difficult enough, this thinking goes, more people will abandon their cars.” Today’s bike lane movement is driven by irrational car hatred more than rider safety. It is led by fringe ideological zealots and must be completely dismantled.

@theregimer @cornoisseur Absolutely. In this video, at 1:20, you can see me riding past children who are perfectly safe riding in a painted bike lane in reasonably busy car traffic conditions. Notice there are no bump-outs, no daylighting, no road diets. Just old school, safe painted bike lanes.

@cornoisseur They gave Augusta a protected bike lane and made it impossible to drive around a left turner. Never seen 1 bike on it EVER and it's basically undrivable now. Just wrecked a street for performative nonsense
