@kaarmann @Wise Congrats on the new look, very bold, cashapp like! But I’m sad the globe transfer animation was removed, now it’s just a boring “please wait” screen like every platform 😔 also looks buggy that the spinning coin load screen shows up when I close the deliberately different screen.

@justinbkay Not that I know of, but I’ve built it in an older project. Let me see if I can find how I did it back then and if it makes sense to write documentation from it.

Just want to give some praise to @danschultzer for Pow, but specially for github.com/pow-auth/assent. I'm building my own authentication solution and Assent seems very reasonable and not tied to Pow at all. Seems very well thought out.

I hope his memory will serve as an inspiration to reflect upon ourselves with little more honesty. We’re all in this together.

RIP James Randi. I was fortunate enough to meet him in person at the last Amazing Meeting in 2015. Like Houdini before him, he was a giant that helped pave the road towards a less exploitive society. If you are unfamiliar with him, go watch “An Honest Liar”, it’s great.

@kidbombay Good call. Might be a good idea to make a hard requirement that the backend cache store has to be set in the config when `Mix.env() == :prod`, with an appropriate error message

@danschultzer Having used both Pow is miles easier but I worry with the generator I'm doing something insecure. I think if Pow had some more heroku friendly defaults that would be great. Losing sessions on restarts is painful.

The more I hear of stories switching from Pow to `mix phx.gen.auth`, the more I feel a scaffold really isn’t a good idea for developers who don’t have the experience or time to maintain secure auth layer. #myelixirstatus

I hope to add support for that *very* soon. It’s been extremely difficult to find enough time/energy in the last few months with work + personal stuff taking up all my free time 😔 Feedback is gold: If you have ever felt Pow to be painful to work with, please let me know 🙏

At the same time it should be easy to replace any moving part in Pow as the app scales. Maybe this idea is due to Pow not supporting WebSockets and LiveView out of the box. When you start adding logic there, you might wonder why you need Pow at all.

@AlchemistCamp @mazz_seven And last thing, though not documented, most/all of the methods in Pow that accepts `conn` also accepts `socket`.

@AlchemistCamp @mazz_seven It may make sense to create a small library in the future to handle sessions in LiveView/WebSockets.
