I have become obsessed with Rte’s basketball commentator and his unorthodox expressions of enthusiasm. ‘BONGO BONGO BONGO!’

@andymcgeady Or a bonus point for every four tries scored?

One more thing. It’s about competition structures. Today is a good example of why the URC, and rugby all over, should move away from the 4 Try Bonus Point and switch to a the X tries *more than the opposition* TBP model. There is motivation for some weirdly loose games today.

Folks, I'm looking for one of these, or any Leinster jersey from that era, in a 3XXXl. It's a bit of a longshot, but it's a birthday present for the old man before we head to London for the final. All RT's appreciated 🫡 @LeinsterClub @leinsterrugby @OLSCRugby @Leinsterfans

@bloodandmud @joshgardner #GOOD is watching Leinster’s just about win, booking tickets for the final during the match then finishing off the bank holiday weekend by (mis)using a circular saw to cut back over grown ivy

I rarely praise the Guardian but this is a extraordinary visual investigation of the sheer level of destruction in Gaza: theguardian.com/world/ng-inter… Absolutely crystal clear when you look through it that the objective is to render the place utterly inhabitable, and destroy Palestinian civil society. Places destroyed are homes, mosques, schools, hospitals, cemeteries, historical landmarks, supermarkets, etc. Everything that makes up a community. Complete disconnect from the stated goal of fighting Hamas.

One interesting thing to think about with the millions of people pouring across the Southern border, what is the economic impact of massive depopulation throughout Latin America?

@FergusCraig Surely if everyone reclines then everyone has the same amount of space and everyone is more comfortable?

Sometimes I feel a bit silly announcing trunk shows on here because custom tailoring is expensive and not available to everyone. But it's an area of menswear that I care a lot about, and I want to support craftspeople. So here we go. If you are in NYC, LA, or San Francisco, there are three good trunk shows coming up. The first is Fred Nieddu, a London-based bespoke tailor who made all of the menswear in The Crown. Fred combines British and Italian tailoring in that he makes a soft shoulder and only uses haircloth and canvas inside the chest—no domette. Yet, he also puts a lot of shape into his garments. Given his film and TV work, he's quite flexible and accommodating in what he can produce. He'll be in San Francisco and Los Angeles next month (pics 1, 2) Speaking of San Francisco, Sid Mashburn, an American ready-to-wear shop with a made-to-measure business, will be visiting the city in December. They do a slightly trimmer style, but still within the realm of a classic silhouette. Base price is $2,200 for a MTM two-piece suit, and they bring try-on suits to their trunk shows, which allows you to see how well you fit into their base model. (pic 3) Lastly, Sartoria Solito will be in NYC next week, and then in San Francisco sometime in January. This is a small tailoring house in Naples run by a father and son team (Gennaro, the father, and his son Luigi). They do a very traditional Neapolitan silhouette—a very soft shoulder, just a single ply across the shoulder line, and a slightly fuller chest (not quite an English drape cut, but what is sometimes described as a "swelled chest"). The style rides the line between contemporary and traditional. They also make the best lapel roll of any tailor I've seen. (pic 4) Tailors typically visit cities once every three to four months. Contact them for more information and/ or to make an appointment.

Almost 16 years to the day exactly… South Africa beat England 15-6 in the World Cup final at the Stade de France, in a much closer game than people expected. Will tonight be similarly tight? #RWC2023 | #ENGvRSA
