I created an account on X in 2024 just for fun and out of pure curiosity, to talk and discuss about AI with like-minded people.
The fact that just two years later I’m able to attend NVIDIA’s GTC in San Jose in person and report from there still feels both unbelievable and surreal to me; same applies for me being a co-founder of a successful newsletter (I quit my 9to5 end 2025).
It fills me with a deep sense of humility and gratitude. Especially that I can make a living doing what brings me the most joy.
Just do what you love.

I packaged up the "autoresearch" project into a new self-contained minimal repo if people would like to play over the weekend. It's basically nanochat LLM training core stripped down to a single-GPU, one file version of ~630 lines of code, then:
- the human iterates on the prompt (.md)
- the AI agent iterates on the training code (.py)
The goal is to engineer your agents to make the fastest research progress indefinitely and without any of your own involvement. In the image, every dot is a complete LLM training run that lasts exactly 5 minutes. The agent works in an autonomous loop on a git feature branch and accumulates git commits to the training script as it finds better settings (of lower validation loss by the end) of the neural network architecture, the optimizer, all the hyperparameters, etc. You can imagine comparing the research progress of different prompts, different agents, etc.

It’s extremely good that Anthropic has not backed down, and it’s siginficant that OpenAI has taken a similar stance.
In the future, there will be much more challenging situations of this nature, and it will be critical for the relevant leaders to rise up to the occasion, for fierce competitors to put their differences aside. Good to see that happen today.

I've been working on this essay for a while, and it is mainly about AI and about the future. But given the horror we're seeing in Minnesota, its emphasis on the importance of preserving democratic values and rights at home is particularly relevant.

Enlightenment values are what's most unique and distinctive about Western culture. They are its foundations. Human rights, individualism, liberty, free speech, valuing science and reason, strong individual property rights, modern state design (democracy, separation of powers, separation of church and state, rule of law...)
In particular, the West's most precious gift to the world is the radical idea that every human being possesses inherent, unalienable rights. Independently of whether they are members of the restricted in-group or not.
This stuff is the source code of the modern world. We should cherish it and protect it. Throwing it away and denigrating it is the most anti-Western thing you could possibly do.

Incredibly simple, but powerful idea : ask a model to combine or take inspirations from multiple previous answers in order to generate the next ones. Its very akin to population-based genetic algorithms.

Note this doesn’t yet have all the useful features of Claude Code, not does it have a fully differentiated non-technical UX yet.
But it is a sign of how quickly Anthropic is iterating on what seems to be a growing consensus on how individual agents for teal work will operate.
